Question 32: What does "copy cat,” mean to you?steemCreated with Sketch.

I have never thought about it before, but the phrase seems to come from observing, or mimicking cat behavior. Particularly meowing back at them. For instance, my cats like to meow at me (of course, for attention). When I meow back this causes them to "talk" with me for a while.

Sadly enough, I always meow last. I must be saying something in cat that they don't think is worth responding to. Cold shouldered. Typical kitties. (lol... This isn't true... they typically meow for something and simply give up after a while.)

Generically, of course, copy cat means to do what I'm doing... although that does sound rather counterproductive. I mean, why should someone want to do what I'm doing when they can be doing something more individual/unique? But I suppose even the best of us have copied another's work. Even Shakespeare. So, while it seems wholly unnecessary, I guess the most important bit is to do it better than those you took it from. Then you can say it was yours all along.

...You know, by saying it that way, that's kind of enlightening, but not in a good way. Hmmm...
