One day it would be nice to see bride price done away with in all societies. Whether a couple weds or not should be a matter of the heart, and the decision should not fall into the hands of others, yes, seek their counsel, but the choice is for the couple to make. No fees to be paid, no dowries to be provided. Parents can from their sense of love, provide for the initial leg up of the couple, but the couple providing dowries, and bride price, and moneys to a church or the state for blessings or paperwork, need to go away. Then man and woman will feel free to love at will, and neither feel like a slave to the other, when people are able to feel freedom, it teaches them about slavery. Freedom begins with family.
