I was organizing my bookshelf earlier today and stumbled upon this neat little book of writing prompts. Since starting my new job I haven't had much time to write and have been in need of inspiration to start making the time. I thought it would be fun to share these prompts and my responses with the community and encourage you all to share some responses of your own.

For this first prompt I kept my response short to test the waters. See if you can guess the setting:

• Many have fallen since I reached this dark pit. They'll continue to fall. In this sea of my brethren I'll remain, ceaselessly bracing myself for the cry of the next arrival.
