WEDDING BLUES

As you walk down the aisle
your heart is in a thunderous beat
your dress catches the eye
your step is a little crooked
as a thousand question run through your head
Is he the one?
Am i wrong?
What am i doing ?
You take another step as the bells are ringing
its all a little too much
so you stop and ask and say to your father whose hands were guiding you
I cant do this, i am not sure i can
and he looks at me in a daze
he knows at this moment you are his little girl
who is in need of a little reassurance
and he says to you...
Baby look up at the end of the aisle
and if you don't want to do this anymore
i will let you turn around and walk away
while i stand here and take the heat.
And so i raise my eyes and look at the of the aisle.
and see the man i am going to marry, standing tall,
handsome and a little nervous
but when our eyes meet from across the hall
my thunderous heart is settled.
My step a little more steady
as i walk down the aisle
to say i do to the start of a new chapter in my life
