PTE - IN A NUTSHELL

First things first, PTE is not an easy exam .

It may be easier compared to IELTS. As individual exam PTE needs lot of hard work and dedication.colourful-ielts-logo.jpg

SPEAKING:
For SPEAKING it all depends on fluency and pronunciation. I wrote PTE twice and got 90 in speaking both the times. I never completed describe image section within 40seconds. But i did repeat sentence and re-tell lecture well. We should not have any gaps while repeat sentence. like ummm, aahhh etc. It should be in a flow. For retell lecture make a flowchart kind of diagram while writing down in notepad. It is easier to remember and retell.

WRITING:
For summary, just be short and to the point. For essay write at-least 280 words with 9–10 not-so-commonly used words (profound , majestic, statistically, paranoid etc) for marks in vocabulary. Except for one sentence, where u r stating your opinion , rest all should be in third person. For stating your opinion use I believe,……

READING:
Looks easy but is tough to crack. Grammar is very important and an idea of collocation words is needed. Collocation words will come automatically if grammar is good. So read lots of newspapers, magazines etc. Re-order is again important. Take max time for this section. Identify linking words. Lots of practice tests are available online for this.

LISTENING:
Need to concentrate and listen. We will be hearing almost everything visible on screen. But we need to use our options carefully. Like in options there may be a word saying “traffic jam”. But in the audio , the speaker will be saying about “ttraffic”. So, both are different. It is to confuse us. Need to be careful
