RE: Dealing With People: River Guiding

Great story and pictures. Thanks very much. I only had one experience with a rafting company in the Ottawa Valley and three rafts of us had a great time, without any casualties. Then I went to work in the local Emergency Room one or two weekends a month. Almost every shift I did there we had casualties coming in from the rafting company (e.g., compound fractures, concussions, lacerations, etc.). The rafting company kept us so busy that the offered us all free passes for a rafting trip, but after our first-hand experience with the injuries, none of us took them up on the offer. I'm sure it was just a run of bad luck, or a bad season.

Most welcome. Thank you for the comment. Yeah that sounds like a serious lack of training, poor boat handling and negligence. The only injuries or fatalities we witnessed were amateurs and private parties believing they could run some serious rapids.
