Top of the morning to you fellow Steemians and I humbly welcome you to our blog this morning for your favourite motivational series. All apologies for not bringing you yesterday's episode. Some circumstances beyond my control caused it. I hope to make it up to you with today's episode.
Our topic for today is Envy. I'm sure most of us have an idea of what envy is. It is basically that feeling or emotion that stirs within us when we see something we wished we had that someone else does or an achievement someone has attained and we wish we were there instead of the person. At a point in time, we tend to be jealous of things we don't possess but when it goes to the extreme, it turns to envy.

There is the need to control that feeling of envy. If not, it leads us to do certain things we are not supposed to which eventually lands us into trouble. We should try as much as possible to be content with what we have. We wouldn't know the struggles a person went through to get that particular item or to gain that status or achievement. So let's turn that jealousy or envy into a source of motivation to enable us to also hit that high mark of success.
Have a wonderful day and let's make the best out of it.

Envy eats deep into the fabric of our clothes as humans sometimes causing untold harm to human existence.
Instead of allowing envy which is a negative emotion with all forms of negative outcomes, let's rather replace it other positive emotions which would propel us towards achieving whatever we are envious about and even more.
I totally agree with you @zapplwomann
Envy, it is supposed to be the greatest motivator in surpassing the other person's achievements.

That's true. Envy is like poison to our minds.
It's a fine way to explain it - if we are more aware of what you have been blessed with, one would feel less envy. Although we all have different gifts don't we? I could feel envy about something you have, admire you, and coime to terms with it. I needn't attempt to steal, reduce your value in any way - so envy isn't always bad - it depends what one does with it.
Jealousy on the other hand, is something that is usually bad. It is the fear something will be taken from you, or you might lose something (often it is rooted in the perception that there is something you don't have which eg. the other person will leave you to get somewhere else). Envy often lies at the root of jealousy, but jeoulousy exporesses itself in insecure feelings, and nasty actions to control others by some kind of blackmail.
I try never to allow jealousy to over come me. Insecure feelings of fear is a good indication what you experience is jeoulsy and not just envy.
