Love and Obsession | My Entry

This is my entry for the contest by @zizymena.

Ekene looked at Debby as she walked by their street. He had formed the habit of sitting outside the fence of his house at evenings in order to see her walk by.

"Good evening", Debby greeted as she walked past Ekene and his friend, Sam.

"Ehen, good evening", Ekene answered sluggishly trying to hide the fact that she was his reason for being there at that very moment. Sam just answered her with a wave of his hand, wondering why his friend hasn't made the 'move'.

"This girl is really beautiful", Ekene said to Sam.

"You have been saying this since last year. Talk to her and find out if the feeling is mutual, you are here dying silently".

"I don't think it's time yet", Ekene answered without trusting the words as they left his mouth.

"Time for what?", Sam asked.

"To talk to her, of course", Ekene retorted.

"I am starting to doubt your manhood", Sam joked.

"Why will you say that? I will talk to her real soon", Ekene said.

They continued in this line of conversation as they walked into the building.

The following evening, Ekene summoned courage and walked up to her. He told her about his feelings for her and how he admired her all this while. As he talked, Debby kept twisting and wriggling her fingers.

"I think I have something for you too", she said, smiling.

I would love for you to call me. Here, this is my call card", Ekene said, handing the card to her.

Few days later, they started going on dates and getting to know each other. The more they spent time together, the more they discovered their love for each other was strong. His love for her grew beyond bounds. He explored her but wanted more than she was willing to give.

On one of their dates, Ekene looked at her eyes longingly. She looked so beautiful, much more than he thought. He paid the bill for their dinner and held her by the hand as he escorted her to the parking lot where his car was parked.

"I would love you to spend the night at my place", he said with the most charming smile.

"No, we've talked about this. I don't want anything intimate for the time being", Debby said, hoping that he would respect her decision.

"Okay", Ekene said reluctantly. "I just want you to see my place, that's all", he reassured her.

"Guess we are on the same page", Debby replied, tightening her seat belt.

They arrived at his house in no time. Ekene made her feel comfortable and relaxed. He turned on the television helped her choose a channel.

"You are really beautiful", he said emphatically as he sat on the sofa, next to her.

She paused for a while, looking into his eyes, as if searching for something. She didn't utter a word. She looked away, shyly.

He felt lost in her presence. How can one person be this beautiful, he asked himself. How can she wield so much power over him without even knowing it? In that very enchanting moment, he lifted her face gently with his hands, his touch lingering to her breasts as he planted a kiss on her lips.She didn't withdraw, she felt mesmerized as she gave in to that moment without a second thought.

Within minutes, the pile of their clothing was on the floor and they panted and struggled to catch their breath. What has she done? She knew exactly what she has done; she just had sex with Ekene and she loved it! She didn't feel bad about it, all her promises to herself had just been washed down the drain, but she was carefree. This moment is perfect. She didn't consider those promises as relevant as she laid her head on his muscular chest and drifted off to sleep.

She woke up to the sound of the blender coming from the kitchen. She walked to the wardrobe and picked a shirt to put on. She strolled into the kitchen, walked up to Ekene and held his from the back as Ekene swirled round to hold her.

"How did you sleep?", Ekene asked as he turned to the quick breakfast he was preparing.

"It was great, though you made me break my promise to myself", Debby said.

"Now, I didn't force you, did I?", he asked beaming radiantly at her.

She was lost for words. In as much as she wanted to put the blame on him, she couldn't.

"I am already late for work, and today is a Monday", she said instead.

"Don't worry about that. You don't have to work anymore", Ekene said.

"I do have to work", she said.

"I don't think you have to. I will take good care of you", he said as he dished the noodles into a plate and placed it in a serving tray.

"As a matter of fact, I don't like my girls over-working themselves. From now on, you will have to move your things into my place; this place is big enough", he said as he looked at her.

Debby was looking at him, her eyes wide open.

"Is this the beginning of an obsessive relationship?", she asked herself.

"No, maybe he is just being caring", she battled with herself.

Debby had just managed to break free from a domineering boyfriend, and did she walk into another? She didn't know what to say or do. She only knew she had to stop it now or break free before it becomes too overbearing.
