The grave error of a well-intentioned individual

Factually big things always start small..
When a man does great harm and damage to large number, it has always been due to early warning signs being ignored by those around them, especially those who were close to them, those who saw the signs earlier on and chose to allow their emotions becloud their sense of judgment; thus they thought, this might be dangerous and felt this is my "friend" and I shouldn't do anything that may hurt his or her feelings..
When the evil eventually breaks out and becomes hazardous, those very close to them, who saw it early coming suddenly go mute..
There has always been a well meaning and good intentioned individual in the life of every person that has done damage to the multitude of individuals in the society; someone who for emotional reasons didn't withdraw their support when their influence could have made the much needed difference..
They kept feeding the tendency by their presence and the relationship until a monster they can now no longer control alone emerged..
A very popular story of an armed robber who was killed by the firing squad many years ago in Nigeria goes thus;

He made just one request while tied to the stakes and that which was for his mother to come close to him, he wanted to whisper some words of love and affection to her before he died, the mother was weeping profusely for her only son; eventually she came close and inclined her ear to him, he bit it off and said out loud, you are the reason am being shot today, If you had told me and punished me when I was stealing things in the house when I was still very young, I would have realized the gravity of my character flaw and worked on it.
Indeed, the case would have been different if and if only the mother corrected him in his earlier years (Proverbs 22:15)

Of a truth, there is a time when long suffering in silence is no longer a virtue as every destructive person in the public domain had an individual much earlier in their life who instead of using their influence to correct, but chose to look the other way.
This is a grave error of a well-intentioned individual.
