Today I rested from cryptocurrency research and relaxed with the family to celebrate Christmas. Over the last month or so a group of guys and I have been religiously digging into cryptocurrencies. We believe there is a real opportunity for this type of tech to change how we live and in the process help us achieve our greater goals.

So, when evaluating investments what do you look for? Below you'll find a list of things we do when deciding if a coin is worth our demo dollar:

• What industry is the digital currency targeting? Does it solve a problem?
• Who are the top level executives and people behind the currency? And do they have legitimate experience?
• Is there a roadmap? Are they hitting their goals and delivering usable product(s)?
• Is there active development and an engaging community?
• What companies, big names and endorsers have backed the digital currency you're researching?
• Is there active press and coverage from big media?
• Have you looked up the ticker sign on Twitter?

These are just a few. But I'm curious... what would you add to the list?
