STEEM - A Crypto Currency That ACTUALLY Has Female Users!
Up until Steemit launched basically the entire crypto currency ecosystem was a bunch of 16-60 year old male neckbeards sitting around gambling, watching porn and selling drugs.
I'm not even making this up! If you look at the entire crypto currency timeline the amount of boobs worn by it's users was damn near immeasurable. Simply put: Crypto had NO Women.
Now, flash forward to the current. Check out the trending posts (not steemsports) and what you notice is we've actually got a whole bunch of women posting and being successful in our community. That is damn awesome considering I came from the bitcoin community where very few if any actual females were actively taking part in it.
GIRL POWER
Women love STEEM. This is a great indicator of future success of the platform! Roughly half the population is female on this planet, the very fact that they are showing some interest in this platform speaks volumes when compared to crypto currency that came before it.
(a 2006 survey showing internet usage of males / females - google)
Women use the internet nearly as much as men. Women use STEEM nearly as much as men.. I'm no scientist by any means but I think this is likely a good thing! Steem on Ladies!

I'm pretty sure I don't wear my boobs.
I've been using the internet since 1996/7 as a chatroom Op, IRCop, gamer and journalist (infrequent and 'for fun'). I've met a lot of geeks - both male and female and put up with a lot of n00bs thinking they can l337-speak but I've never encountered anyone that believed I can choose to wear (or not wear) my boobs.
That's a new one :)
You're right in your conclusion that Steemit is populated by more women than the 'norm' and I'm as pleased about that as you seem to be :)
LOL. My wording in that is terrible. My apologies.

Thanks :)
I did start learning HTML code for a game I helped develop but when I stopped using it every day, it slipped.
I began learning how to do the cool stuff on Steemit too, but I don't use it frequently enough and I spent more time editing and re-editing the posts, so I just use italics and bold for the moment :)
I use a combination of good ole HTML and markdown for my posts. :)
Well, now I've decided that I'm sticking around... I guess I should start learning the code for this too. :)
Honestly the basic HTML that I use here for my posts I use nearly day as a web developer but not a bad thing. I suggest everyone learn a bit of HTML if they are on the interwebz. :)
I will, I promise ;)
See what I did there?
Aw! You word well!
I definitely wear my boobs. LOL
The damn things nearly choke me every night. I totally attribute my snoring to them.
Yea, I love the fact that there are so many different users here. In a lot of other communities, we see mostly young males that spend a lot of time on the internet, but here on Steemit, there are so many diverse groups, such as farmers that don't usually post a lot on the internet, and of course, females that are not the typical "gamergirl" stereotype.
I think this diversity is really good for Steemit, and really separates it from places like Reddit or online forums.
Agreed. We seem to have a better example of people worldwide than other communities.
All I had to do was look at the group photo from SteemFEST to see the ratio of men to women. It is very encouraging and the crypto world should definitely take notice. We're doing it right!
'scuze me while I hang these on right. LOL
Great Post! Tweeted on @Steemit and shared to Tumblr, GPlus and Pinterest.

Thank you hilarski! Much appreciated sir!
I'd been thinking about this too. There are female geeks out there, but Steemit is also appealing to a less technical audience of artists and bloggers. I love seeing the diversity of users here
I know a handful of female nerds.. None of them were interested in the slightest about learning crypto.. lol
I work in a room full of developers with only one lady. Not sure she's that geeky.
Totally agree. And this is most important issue. How to attract womens to crypto?Steemit solve this problem
It is a great introduction tool to crypto currency.. It's so well hidden that it is crypto.
Very good point, being SteemIt has so many female users I can safely say this platform will not go away. FB and others will see their demise to SteemIt.
Am chuckling and trying to figure out which categories I fit in... am closer to 60 than not, spend too much time playing Wartune (as a guild master), and now dipping my toes in crypto-world.
Whatever the outcome, I'm pleased to see so many other women participating and in so many facets of the process.
You can be a she-nerd if you want. :)
Or wjattever you choose!
LOL! I just might do that...
The most recent analytics show that Steemit female users are in rapid decline. The percentages used to be higher. It appears that large numbers of female users have left the platform. Here's recent data from today:
You sure are working your ass off buddy. You got this. Glad to see your spirits so high :)
I've no time to crash under the weight of what's going on at the moment. :D
