Let's talk about Infections! Better to write about topics in familiar field (s) than rack your head up and get lost in Blockchain forest!steemCreated with Sketch.

In my last write up, I shared some tips on how to be persistent on the steemit community. As I noted, many people join this community with a different mindset and always feel disappointed after a while. As part of my plan to stay consistent in the steemit community, I have decided to share write ups on fields that I am familiar with.

The aim is first and foremost, to keep me up to date in my discipline. Secondly, to keep interested readers well informed and finally but not the least, to make the best out of the steemit network.

Majority of the people on this platform write mostly about Blockchain tech and related topics, well, that is logical since steemit is built on Blockchain tech but on the other hand, there are no restrictions to what one should write about, none that I know at least, besides, not everyone here is computer/tech savvy.

I would like to start this journey by introducing readers today to an interesting field. I hope some people find it interesting and we could really have an interactive section here every now and then.

As some people already know, Infection is one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality globally and this results to a heavy economic burden on the states as well as globally. Interestingly, clinical research against infectious diseases have seen significant advancements in the last decades, however, the fight is still far from been won.

Partly, amongst other reasons, is the withdrawal of many major drug companies from research into antibiotics and the long time taken to understand an infectious disease and develop new strategies against it, hence the need for development of radical strategies.

This new approach, has seen great progress but mostly in advanced countries. Sadly, this advancement is still missing in most developing countries, where a major population of the victims of infectious diseases reside.

It would have been logical to have such radical strategies against infectious diseases been developed in countries where it is suffered most but ironically, the people who suffer infectious diseases the most lack great knowledge about the disease let alone develop strategies against it (them).

In this series of my write up, I will take you through the radical strategies that have been developed, what has been done so far, what more could be done and my plans to better the strategies.

Please watch out for my next post on 07.10.2017.

Until then, enjoy your time on steemit.
