Human Emotion
I deal with emotions, practical or not. Because either way, they’re going to get in the way of my work or passions. Although, since most of my passions are artistic, I am fueled and crippled by emotion simultaneously. Being tied down and pushed away, with the only result being a broken ankle.
When humans see others cry, our natural human instinct is to flock to their side and diagnose the issue. Sometimes our solution is to go to the source of the problem, but seldom the answer is tightening some screws on an already robotic person. We only break down when we feel what’s there; normal emotions are symbiotic, pushing us forward, but taking away varying amounts. Humans can recognize twenty-one different, and distinct, expressions. I could look now, and notice what someone is feeling by seeing what muscles they flex in their cheeks. We categorize something fervid, resulting in stereotypical emotions to certain personality types. In an attempt to minimize the impact of these feelings, we push them down into language that cannot possibly describe these situations. Sadness has an affiliation with being sad, of course, but by looking at someone who is “sad,” we have an automated list of reactions that our body will go through to maximize the survival of our species. A recipe cannot fix something that is so compelling, and sometimes, fixing some loose screws only makes it hurt more than before.
And this is what makes us different. Only a few other animals can use tools, but we can use our emotions to rationalize those tools into beliefs, values, and hopes. We take the indescribable and push them into cliches that are commonly recognized, and instead of expressing the emotion itself, we reveal the results; the effects of the feeling. By showing love, we demonstrate the rush of endorphins we receive when a fraction of that emotion hits us.
This recognition is why expression of emotion is so vital. We have to explode every once in a while. Otherwise, we become, speaking of cliches, a bottle of emotions waiting to cause a diverse number of effects onto ourselves and others. Deal with emotions. Express them. Otherwise, we lose what it means to be a unique human being. We represent our values towards people we despise, for their actions contradict us. We need to show others why our emotions are valid and show that through our passions. Passion is what makes us, comparatively, human.

My mother said something to me once...
Allow your emotions to go "through you". I never really understood what she meant, until I realised that I needed to let them go. take them in and then let them go... through me, and out of me.
Emotion is seldom practical, the mind is practical. Emotion serves a different purpose entirely.
It is difficult not to let it control you, but you most certainly CAN learn to manage it, by allowing it to go "through you" xxx
Beautiful post.
Thank you! Your mother sounds like a wonderful woman. Appreciate your insight. Be sure to follow!
Only a pleasure xxx
