Divine Intervention
Really curious what you guys think of this piece:
Divine Intervention
It felt like free will when the cancer overtook your body.
Your vision blurred and you forgot the anguish of childhood.
It came with a pulse and an agenda that fractured the delayed vacations.
It strengthened childhood lessons and affirmed adult realizations.
It was like divine intervention when the cancer pressed too hard on neurons
and made aches mimic apologies choking
into dilated thoughts that sailor carnivorous animals into kneeling tigers.
I only understood it as resentment when the light highlighted a speck of breath that fell from your mouth.
It adlibbed your revenge as the tunes
sound clouded and distort
prattling about fostered children with fostered love.
It’s like when dragons fought with heroes to defend something worth collecting.
You battle turtle complacency that won’t reject the bureaucracy.
Neighborhoods bang into sleep and I’m persuaded into Plato remorse.
very sorry to hear about the prognosis especially with a child, I cannot imagine your pain.
