 Day7   19/05/2018   

Looking round I could see the café was full; people seemed cosy, huddled together in small pockets, looking as if they were in a world of their own. 

Anxiously, I watched like an extra in a film set, involved, in their space, and yet...in someway quite distant. Suddenly, my thoughts were rudely interrupted, “Excuse me love! This is not a bus stop, we’ve customers to serve, now what can I get you?” the assistant asked in a rather irritated and somewhat slightly agitated manner.

Staring silently at the menu, I wasn’t sure what to choose, the list seemed endless, I became confused, egg and chips, egg, chips and beans, egg, chips, beans and sausage. Is that one or two? The assistant behind the counter looked at me quizzically, as if to say come on then, hurry up make your mind up. Are you ready? a voiced behind asked inquiringly, “because some of us, including me are hungry, and we haven’t got all day”,

“Oh sorry” I muttered, feeling rather stupid, moving out the way, still not sure as to what I actually wanted. But, just knowing that I was extremely hungry.

Now I became acutely aware of the long queue forming behind me, suitably embarrassed, I quickly scanned the menu board, less more shame be heaped on me, “Number 22, please, I mumbled hastily”.....
