Somewhere in the shadowy depths of the ocean lies a creature in ancient slumber. A great deity of old who's cosmic power extends far beyond the comprehension of man. Locked away within his palace of cyclopean geometry the creature dreams visions of the universe and it’s chaotic outer gods that would crumble the minds of any mortal man. Even from his eternal slumber the being prays on the psyche of innocent souls driving them to madness amidst the realisation of the ungodly power of ‘The Great Old One.’
Although many are unaware of the great power that lies below the abyss of the ocean, there are some who’s minds shattered by his influence have begun to kneel in worship of the terrifying wrath of this ancient dreamer.
The true name of this godly creature is unknown as its alien nature is not recognized by the human tongue but it's followers simple know it as Cthulhu.

Whilst there are many depictions of Cthulhu throughout the ancient texts, it is unclear if mankind has ever laid eyes on this other worldly being. Perhaps the images were the insane inspirations from tormented minds driven mad by his influence. Or maybe they are first hand accounts of a horrific time long passed, a time before man was allowed to dominate this world. Either way the image of Cthulhu remains the same.

A creature hundreds of feet tall, vaguely anthropoid in nature yet at the same time far from human. His skin resembling thick rubber and abundant in scales and spines, the deepest shade of green from the deepest depths of space. His head not unlike an octopus was is a mass with testicles that reach out far beyond that of his claw-like hands. He is depicted with a set of wings that his worshipers say carry him across the cosmos to new realms where like on Earth, he feeds on the fear of mortal men.

It is believed that Cthulhu is the inspiration behind the tales of the Kraken from sailors throughout time. His alien followers, 'The Deep Ones' said to be the base for mermaids.

It is said that one day when the stars are right and the world is on the brink of chaos, Cthulhu will return and bath in the fear of man and deliver them to eternal despair. Until that day come he rests patiently influencing the minds of the weak, the ones that cannot resist
