Framing Yoga Photos

in #yoga7 years ago

Do you need to make sure your whole body is in frame to show that you flowed through an asana? Unlikely.

In the recent upsurge of 'yoga challenges' on instagram, I've found that a lot of the fun of sharing images of the different poses is actually in the framing of the content.

I generally tend to accidentally chop my head or feet off when self timing my yoga photos, so this new awareness of not needing entirety in photos when your practice is already wholesome was a big gain.

I used to try over and over to make sure the post practice pose pics were the 'best' representation of the pose, complete with the best backdrop and angles.

Now? Not so much.

I believe if you can frame a shot so that it keeps focus on the pose at hand while showing a slightly shifted perspective, it makes the game much more fun.

I will practice getting more artistic with my shifted perspectives if I hop back into any more 'challenges'

Do you have a favorite posture to photograph?
