For most of the more difficult yoga postures it's not so much strength, but flexibility that is required. I've been able to build strength very fast. Flexibility not so much. A healthy muscle fully contracts and fully release. If you stretch statically and dynamically everyday the body will lose resistance. With no resistance the body's assessable to use its strength in all movements or holds.
