YourCityVibez 4 Entry - Dumbo strolling
Here's my entry for my favorite new photo contest, YourCityVibez! Current theme is "Urban", and you can find the details here.
This photo was taken in Dumbo about 2 months ago, it was a chilly Saturday and I was going for a walk with my friend. Dumbo is a neighborhood in Brooklyn that is flanked by the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, and you can see foot of the Manhattan Bridge in the distance here.
My friend doesn't like having her picture taken, so I have to be very sneaky about it! She got very mad when I took the pic, but once she saw it she said it's maybe her favorite photo of herself ever.
One of the things I love love love about this photo is the way the sliver of sky (and reflection on the cobblestones) kind of makes an "X" of brightness in the middle of the photo. It was a fluke to capture it this way since I was shooting from the hip!
