RE: Introducing "World 5 List" - Bringing the YouTube World to Steemit!

in #youtube7 years ago

Hey Rene, welcome to STEEMIT! As I shared with Angelo on his intro post, it's impressive how far you also managed to get on YouTube. We mostly gave up on our channel as we were about to break 100K subscribers back in 2011, due to all the censorship and demonetization issues we already faced back then (now, as I'm sure you're well aware, more commonplace than ever).

It's also great that you want get other YouTubers to discover the STEEMIT "light at the end of the tunnel" as well! To that end, you may find some of the materials I referenced in my recent "YouTuber's Guide" post helpful for yourself and others as you attempt the still not-so-easy task of explaining to them what STEEMIT's all about. For some, it almost seems "to good to be true" that you can earn money just by posting, and without any adverts whatsoever!

Both of your channels have some really great content, and I definitely see the "cross" influence between your two channels from your collaboration. You'll also find a great and proactive community of people here, as opposed to many of the nasty 12 year olds comment trolling on YouTube!

Again, to both of you, welcome to STEEMIT, glad you've found your way here, and I dunno but if that first "hit" on Angelo's intro post isn't incentive enough to the potential of "STEEMIT", I dunno what else is. Just imagine once you each get to a "whopping" 1000 subs! lol 😎

Thanks for the encouraging words. What was the channel you were running?!

Our main channel was vlogolution. I still have screenshots of our sub and view counts from those days for posterity (one of our videos alone, at the time, had over 30 million views)! lol

I've always wondered how far we could have gotten there without so much resistance from the YouTube "powers that be". But then again, seeing what's happened the past year... like Alex Jones, imagine having budgeted millions expecting a certain level of income from YouTube, and then it evaporates overnight. Of course, all the more "incentive" to "keep your nut low". I actually wrote a bit more about it in a comment on Anegelo's intro post if you're curious.

Why did you delete the channel all together though?!

we didn't delete it. you can click through and see it's still there. we just haven't really posted any new content on it because nearly everything we posted would be immediately flagged down and/or demonetized as "inappropriate". for example, forget about demonetization, they completely pulled our "I'M OUT OF TOILET PAPER" video off our channel (and other videos as well). At the time, that one video was earning around $150/day on average! However, it still exists on a copycat channel (it's our user name but spelled with I's instead of L's)! For some reason, they never felt the need to remove that copy, despite numerous requests while ours was still live on YouTube!

Ironic, though, how YouTube has no problem monetizing Katy Perry's despicable latest video Bon Appetit, now at 152 MILLION views and counting! So much for "inappropriate for YouTube", if that doesn't stick it right to the gut of every other "hard working" YouTuber, I dunno what does!

Yeah I know we had a video demonetized yesterday that is called: 7 Most Heartwarming good deeds... How about that?!

and there ya go... now ask me if I'm shocked! lol

But I can say this, WELCOME TO STEEMIT! 😁

Thank you :)

Hi nice to meet any pointers being on here
