Logan Paul vs. KSI fight- Of Course This is Happening

Ah yes. A battle for the ages. Two masters of the craft who represent the pinnacle of physical, and mental ability, showcasing their talents in the ring that has birthed legends. This could easily be remembered as one of the greatest moments in the history of the sport, next to Ali vs. Frazier, or Peter Griffen vs. the giant chicken. They hold in their hands the hopes and dreams of twelve year olds across the planet. Either way this fight goes, we know the following day will be filled with mayhem in Jr. High lunchrooms across the planet, as fan girls cry in agony, and fan boys defend their fallen hero with claims of cheating and biased referee's. Parents and teachers better be prepared for the day after, as over a decade worth of collective drama, and clout chasing on social media finally come to a boiling point. What will the world look like on August 26th? No one can tell. No emoji can bring peace. No amount of dabbing can calm the storm that's brewing. This can only be resolved in the ring.

In all seriousness, this fight is absolutely genius. We all know being a social media star has nothing to do with talent, or personality. Kids are looking for one thing in a social media idol. Drama. They want to hear shit-talking, they want to see meme's bashing each other, and they want to believe it's real. Here we have two of the most prestigious drama queens to ever step foot in front of a camera, just poking at each other over the internet for months, and making a metric fuck-ton of money doing so.

To be honest I had never heard of KSI until the other day, and I didn't know who Logan Paul was until he made the news filming a victim of suicide for money a while back. Recently, since spending some time with my niece, and becoming curious about the people she idolizes, I started doing some research into the world of social media in 2018. I explored platforms like Instagram, Twitch, Musically, and started looking at the trending page of youtube. What I found confused me, and sent me into somewhat of a depression. It blows my mind how little it takes to impress a teenager in 2018. So much low-effort content being blown out of the assholes, and into the eyes and ears of our youth, and they absolutely love it. I can't understand why so many people are interested in watching someone talk into a camera about nothing of substance, or watch someone play video games for hours. Don't even get me started on Musically. Long gone are the days of artists, poets, actors, and musicians, spending years honing their craft hoping to earn the respect of the masses they intend to entertain. Everything that gets attention on these platforms takes almost no skill, or practice, and the kids don't even realize they are spending their lives absorbing content that took almost no effort to create. The masses have been so dumbed down they can't even comprehend true art, or entertainment. Their are amazing composers, stage actors, writers, and artist who create extraordinary works of art, that is filled with meaning and substance, yet they choose to watch PewDiePie go over the meme's posted on reddit that day. That's all it takes to entertain kids now? This is our future.

So here we are. Two of the cringiest youtubers out there that have been talking shit to each other for ages, and making millions off of it. So whats next? They have already made a ton of video's. They have already capitalized off of making shitty rap videos. How can they make their next million? What legitimate industry, or art form
can they make a mockery of next? Of course! Martial arts!
They can train for a few months, hype it up with drama, and get more viewers than athletes who have been training their entire lives to enter that ring. To a lot of people, entering the boxing ring is something you earn through years of hard work and determination. It's ground only the best walk on, where legends are created, and destroyed. But here come the youtubers to make a mockery of it, just like they did with hip-hop, comedy, and just about everything else they fucking touch.

So before you get all hyped up about this fight, keep in mind that it's probably been staged from the beginning. They probably went and had a beer together after that emotional press conference, where they looked like ten year olds on the playground. They are going to make millions off of this event, and in that respect, it's genius. They are truly capitalizing off every angle possible while they have the spotlight on them. I guess the saying goes, don't hate the player, hate the game. Their managers really are geniuses. Kids eat up drama, why wouldn't they like to see their favorite youtubers hit each other? Everyone is talking about this fight online. They have been building up the drama, and suspense for months, and now they have announced it's gonna be a pay-per-view fight! I don't even want to calculate how much they are going to make off of this nonsense. This is what social media has created. This is who our kids idolize. This is the fucking world we live in now. God help us all.
