This is my entry to the #Zapfic Contest by @felt.buzz. The main rule is keep it short, 240 characters or less. The prompt for this short fiction was War.
War
The long line of downtrodden dwindled to a pinpoint on the smoky horizon.
A girl and her father stood watching.
The soot smudged, tear streaked face turned.
"Will it ever end, Papa?"
"Only for the brave, Mishka. Only for the brave."

Thanks. I’ve never really messed with flash fiction before. It was a good experience.
Yes; writing very short stories is excellent practice and working out what is important and what isn't in a story. Also good to see what happens to a story if you are forced to leave something out.
