Lemang is a typical food of indigenous Indonesia, in Sumatra lemang into food that is preferred because it feels good. lemang usually made during the fasting month and made the menu iftar fast but make lemang in the month of fasting is not a necessity because making lemang not too difficult but takes a long time.
Lemang is a food made with glutinous rice cooked by using bamboo wrapped in banana leaves.
The materials and how to make lemang as follows:
#Materials:
- Glutinous rice 1 liter.
- 1 liter from 1 coconut.

#How to Make Sticky Glutinous Easy
Take the bamboo we need
Cut bamboo according to the size of lemang that we want to make
First wash the glutinous rice first then dry and drain. For best results soak for 3-4 hours then wash and drain. Next, add the coconut milk and salt into the glutinous rice that has been washed.
The next step, prepare the bamboo that has been cleaned the inside and then seal the inside of bamboo with banana leaves.
After that enter the sticky rice that has been given coconut milk into the bamboo, but remember not too full. Approximately 3/4 parts only. Next, cover the top of the bamboo with banana leaves.
And lastly, Light a fire can use firewood or charcoal to burn bamboo that already contains sticky rice until cooked. See the picture above for how to burn bamboo. Do not forget to flick the bamboo occasionally to mature evenly.
After not too hot, remove the lemon from the bamboo and then cut into small pieces and ready to serve.
