ZelCore Adds VeriBlock Asset — Store your VBK Without Syncing the Chain

The Zel Team is excited to announce that VeriBlock ($VBK) will be integrated into the ZelCore multi-asset wallet. VBK can now be stored and transacted in a lightweight manner, meaning users now have the option to check balances and move assets without needing to sync the VBK blockchain.

VeriBlock and the Zel Team are also working on the feasibility of adding Proof-of-Proof (PoP) mining and security metrics into the ZelCore GUI. More info about PoP mining will be released as it develops. As VeriBlock rolls out the VeriBlock Altchain Integration Factory (“VAIF”) to streamline the adoption process of PoP technology by altchains, PoP mining in ZelCore could enable low-friction PoP mining where users can earn rewards for simultaneously securing a multitude of altchains.

What is VeriBlock?

VeriBlock is a “Decentralized, Trustless, Transparent, and Permissionless means of inheriting Proof-of-Work security.” The blockchain utilizes both PoW and PoP (Proof-of-Proof) mining to secure other blockchains by leveraging the hash power of the BTC mining network. PoW miners generate blocks on the VeriBlock network (which contain a unique hash combination of states of all chains secured by VeriBlock) at an average rate of one block every 30 seconds, and PoP miners compete to publish the proofs of these blocks to the BTC network, secured by the massive number of BTC miners. This novel strategy allows any altchains to maintain similar security levels as BTC without matching BTC’s mining network and power consumption.
