Something about cats!
This frenzy phenomenon manifests itself in the vast majority of cats, including the quietest. They then start running in all directions, knocking over everything in their path, trying to climb the walls, meow, slide. Real electric batteries!
Why do cats have their quarter of an hour of madness?
Clearly, your cat (especially if it is young) needs to let off his ager and anxiety , to evacuate its excess energy, by embarking on an intense physical and mental movements.
Even if this behavior does not have to worry in the majority of cases, it can sometimes be the manifestation of an anxious state due to an accumulation of frustration or to life in a hypostimulating environment.
In this case, the quarter of an hour of madness degenerates: at the height of its excitement, the cat can attack its owner, bite him and scratch him. Some even lurk in ambush behind furniture to jump on and attack their master.
How to react when he become anxious?
If you think his behavior is normal, take the opportunity to play with him. The game then makes it possible to create a bond of trust. Remember he is a small predator, it is his instinct. By playing with him, you allow him to express itself and prevent him from directing his energy towards you.
With a stick attached to the end of a toy used as a fishing rod, mimic the attitudes of an imaginary prey, in the air (like a bird) or on the ground (like a small field mouse). Regularly stop the agitation of the lure: your cat will land, observe and implement a strategy to pounce on it. Make him move a little more between his paws like a real trophy so that the excitement subsides. Always end the game by letting him grab the coveted toy.
Never use your hands or feet to play with your pet. Because, at any time of the day, it could interpret your movements as a call to play. It is also a question of safety: a small toy puts distance between its claws, its fangs and you.
To reduce his nervousness, make sure that your little feline has something to play, observe, climb during the day ... in short, pets need to be enough stimulated at home.
