The Thief is back - UNBELIEVABLE - All steem-engine Token creators please watch your tokens!

in #beer5 years ago

Hey Steeminas, dear BEER lovers

Sad news today - the thief is back

Again our little community project got some wonderful attention in the market and again the same user "STOLE" a lot of BEER.

THIEF AT BEER OFFICE.png

The world is full of assholes!
YOU - who did this -
please transfer the "stolen" BEER
back to @beerlover

You took the BEER which we have for the community into your own account and send even a few 100 to the market.

This is not fair, even if you are a clever programmer, this is not the way you build up a good responsibility. No one will send you honor for stealing something from the community.

Again the same user

This late afternoon I checked the @beerlover and saw the actual status of "Whats going on"

The few very special ones
all are known by the community

Everybody, please make yourself a picture of this be looking to the last transfers
https://steem-engine.rocks/transactions?symbol=BEER

Steeling from a fair-drop

What a bad kind of human are you?

We have our fun with such a nice function and such an Id%t is stealing our BEER token only to make a little profit for yourself. What a shame.

I never ever though, that assholes - like the one who did this - are around to fool the community.

This is a bad behavior like showing a whole community with 1000 of fair playing steemians the middle finger.

You might think this is smart, but this is really not smart

We give you 2 days
to send back all the 'stolen' BEER
to the account of @beerlover

Calling all clever and fair steemians

If you are in programming and platform stuff, please check if you see some potential problems and just let us know

I like to have steem and the beer community a better place - a place where we help each other and where we not fool each other. So if you are such a smart and clever guy or girl, I love to chat with you.

Calling all beerlover

Sorry to mention you all, but I have to inform you all about this topic, safe other token creators for the same problem and ask as well for your help.

Sigh... There is always one arsehat that ruins the fun for everyone. Eventually they will realise that money isn't everything...

Ugh, this is really sad. I'm having fun with the Beer token fairdrop, I share it around to people who play my game and to those people who check the Plankton Token which is about small red fishes' community just trying to help each other understand Steemit and have fun. People love getting 1 token as a reward for the interaction and it's really fun because it helps give my token project and my games traction. I even give out Beer token as a prize in my Weekly Trivia Game in Discord. It's one reason people go there and join, to get these rain of little tokens. I am grateful to the token owner of Beer for doing a fairdrop, I have made ways to share it around and it has helped my project.

BEER has been spreading the fun and been useful. The beer token owner is one great guy here in the platform, I am hoping for the best for him in resolving this issue. I hope the person try to get to know him and cooperate, after all, that's what community is about.

Stealing beer should be punished with the death penalty ... and I am totally against the death penalty - but there are limits!
This is an absolute no-go!!!
When offering beer to the whole community by making it available to everybody to give it away to friends ... what an a55hole you must be to say I am my best friend and give as much as possible to myself?!?
This a55hole should be listed on all available blacklist and downvoted by the whole community.

I was told one should always close positively ... so I say (again) thank you to @detlev for this project and the distributed beer!
Keep on the good work and try to keep the a55holes out.

STEEM ON!!!

Message to me: Don‘t just do Post when not really awake!

Let’s see if this works again after the first little fix

!BEER

Ok, let’s see

!BEER

You cannot sent token to yourself.

Sorry, out of BEER, please retry later...

To view or trade BEER go to steem-engine.com.

Hey @pundito, here is your BEER token. Enjoy it!

I still have my beer, it is still safe and locked away, for the person exploiting a loop hole or a fair air drop, exploitation is still a crime and using exploitation of rules to comment a crime is still a criminal activity. Ask any of the three or four people that have ever gone to jail for insider trading, they exploited a loop hole got busted and served time.

All your BEER dear @bashadow is safe!

And even better, you get another one soon.

well thanks, one day I may get up to a six pack. Not that I can drink that much any more, but still it is nice for those emergency days.

I once 'stole' a beer from my dad, he never found out and it was delicious. Jacking community tokens is traceable and not worth the reputation damage. Whoever did this should be ashamed of themselves.

One beer is fine, I even send 10 beer or more to anyone who help to prevent something.

To prevent this issue, it would be good to limit (f)airdropping one BEER/day/user... right? (I don’t know S-E tech implications)

Posted using Partiko iOS

Sadly, exact that will come and some more.

Terrible news. Such a fun project and some jerk wants to wreck it. for what?

only for being hated by the community.

Due this reason I like to wait if we get back what was "stolen" before naming people

He’s for sure a poor miserable! 😭

Posted using Partiko iOS

For the lulz of course - it's probably a chan clique co-ordinating most of the shit like this on the Steem blockchain.

There'll be bragging going on about it somewhere.

So if you have 600 beer, you can airdrop 100 beer per account per day?
If someone transfers the 600 beer to another account after reach the daily limit, he will get another 100 beer?
I think in this case, you better ask them to stake the beer to airdrop.

Good idea - will see how fast we can activate staking to prevent something like this.

Do you have a blacklist? Add the accounts to the blacklist to resolve this issue temporarily

Posted using Partiko iOS

That’s another good idea! 👍🏼

Posted using Partiko iOS

this well known user has around 1000-2000 accounts......

That’s crazy!

Posted using Partiko iOS

Yeah, but again something we don’t wanted to learn.

1000-2000 accounts?

Posted using Partiko Android

What!

Posted using Partiko Android

Whoa that's a lot!

Posted using Partiko Android

Well having that amounts of accounts sounds like a bot army for exploitation of the games and the steempool.

With money involved people even best friends are getting corrupted and laugh about it.

A company ahh the boss well he has enough money. I want more deserve more etc or yeah well I can talk for hours instead of working. It's too hot I won't work oh but I want the hours paid from just sitting down instead of working.

Money corrupts not dealing with that is like leaving your wallet in the front of your car with the door open with a few hundred euro hanging out.

Take money out of the game you will be left with greed. I am allone the wife of the neighbour is better then mine lets get this wife. Even if everybody has everything in abundance.

Humans and utopia is not possible.

If someone has 1000 accounts he created them with a purpose.

Posted using Partiko Android

What about enabling (f)airdrop limit to one BEER a day from a user to a user?

Posted using Partiko iOS

Another sad day in beerland...and for all of Steemia. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. I think we as a Steem community should band together to do something about this “gentleman”...unfortunately, it seems this shows a bit of a flaw in the Steem reputation system when we really don’t have much recourse against him...even if we drive his rep negative, he’ll counterattack and/or just pop up in another of thousands of accounts.
!BEER

so how exactly did someone "steal" these tokens?!

how is that even possible... did they have access to someone else's private key or what was going on?!?

No one stole anything- someone just ran an exploit on a bot that was giving out tokens automatically

Posted using Partiko Android

oh ok... now I get it... someone just "printed" more tokens than acceptable by "community standards"...

well... I think @beerlover really deserves a dramatoken for this FUD

If you know the mechanism maybe you know the solution. How can @beerlover stop it?

You cant stop it, you cant just expect people to just ahdere to your honor system?
Imagine someone in some poor country and they have no skills but they see theres beer token they can take, to them the fact that you havent secure those tokens down is all the proof they need that they need that money more than you.. its not right but its how they will justify it so dont expect people to just respect your opened door and unlocked safe full of money ....

its called the tragedy of the commons
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tragedy_of_the_commons

The tragedy of the commons is a situation in a shared-resource system where individual users, acting independently according to their own self-interest, behave contrary to the common good of all users, by depleting or spoiling that resource through their collective action. The theory originated in an essay written in 1833 by the British economist William Forster Lloyd, who used a hypothetical example of the effects of unregulated grazing on common land (also known as a "common") in Great Britain and Ireland.[1] The concept became widely known as the "tragedy of the commons" over a century later due to an article written by the American ecologist and philosopher Garrett Hardin in 1968.[2] In this modern economic context, commons is taken to mean any shared and unregulated resource such as atmosphere, oceans, rivers, fish stocks, roads and highways, or even an office refrigerator.

Whoa... I'm thinking this is what China is doing to PH waters... Hmmm. 🤔🤔🤔

I'm sure they'll do something to safeguard the fridge!

he is working on this.

But this means more limitations for all.

SAD

that is for sure in some way "stealing"

At least as the rest of the community can't use that tokens for the fun they have with it

No its for sure not in any way stealing. If they hacked you and stole the funds they werent supposed to maybe but dude, you cant ahve an non secure system and complain when you find out tokens are missing. its your own systems fault , because it was bound to happen, you cant expect there to not be peopel wanting to find holes and exploit them, maybe you can actually explain what happened ?

The Thief is back - UNBELIEVABLE - All steem-engine Token creators please watch your tokens

Your implying that all steem engine tokens are now unsafe or somehow compromised, which they are not and its very greedy and selfish of you to throw aggroed and steem engine devs under the bus just because you happened to have a problem with your own token....

also, how many tokens were "stolen"? You realize they arent worth anything unless peopel actually buy them right? So why woudl we wanna buy stolen tokens now and fund a theif>

Soudns liek you nee dto shut down your project and start over with a new coin unless you can isolate the incidenta or tell us that not THAT many coins were "stolen"?

No, not all tokens are unsafe, only token using the same mechanism to airdrop might have a similar issue.

We had this with a few token some weeks ago, so I though some noise might help.

How is that even possible ? And it happened before !? Crazy

Posted using Partiko iOS

Long story - mainly misuse of our airdrop.

Will give that people some time to send it back, before we have act in a different way.

Yeah how is it possible? I wonder if it was because they abused this airdrop mechanism??
