Confessions of a Dark Net Drug Dealer Part 1
The following story was told to me by someone who wished to remain anonymous.
I first got into drug dealing not long after my sister killed herself. It was early 2016 and i was taking a lot of drugs and looking for ways to recoup some of the money i was spending on them. Research and word of mouth led me something called the dark web where you could buy and sell any drug you wanted for a fraction of the price. A lightbulb moment went off in my head and i knew i'd found something worth looking into.
The dark web is basically a bunch of hidden websites that exist only on a specific web browser called The Onion Router or TOR for short. It is essentially the same as chrome or firefox but far more untraceable and anonymous which made it the home of the all the hidden sites that exist on the internet. Everything from drug marketplaces to whistle blowers and freedom fighters exist on the dark web and experienicing it all for the first time was beyond fascinating.
When i first started out the main marketplace was called Alphabay. It was essentially Ebay for drugs and you could find anything you wanted on there. Scrolling through it for the first time was more exciting than anything you could imagine. Right before your eyes you could see cheap MDMA and cocaine listings that could be bought with the click of a button and a fraction of the price of street drugs. Bitcoin was the main payment method and buying it wasn't easy back in those days because it was yet to enter the mainstream conversation. Most people had never heard of it and the people who had heard of it only did so because of the dark net. It took me a few days to get my hands on bitcoin but once i did i instantly made an account on Alphabay and purchased what i thought was a large amount of cocaine and MDMA from Europe. About 14 grams of each if i remember correctly. I was scepical at first because i couldn't even imagine how it could be so easy to import highly illegal drugs into Australia using the postal service but my fears were unfounded.
Within a few weeks i had my hands on some the purest, most beautiful looking drugs i had ever seen and they had been delivered right to my door. I instantly ordered more and started spreading the word among my friends that i had a connection that could supply anything they wanted. Within a few months business was booming and i was making more money than i could imagine. It's hard to stress just how cheap i was buying the drugs for. MDMA sells for around $250 a gram in Australia but i was getting it for $10 from europe. The profits were huge. High quality cocaine is almost unheard of in Australia but i was getting it for $80 and selling it for $350 and people were flocking to it because of the quality. Word spread from my friends to their friends and then to their friends and before i knew it i could hardly keep up with the demand.
I wasn't an average drug dealer and my clients weren't average drug users. Most of them were highly educated, highly successful people in their 20's who still liked to party on the weekends. It's amazing how many of them were doctors or lawyers (cocaine) and it still surprises me because most people think of drug users as being from the bottom rungs of society but the upper classes like to party just as hard as anyone. I suppose it was just the circle i was moving in but i have no doubt that some of the people i supplied to will some day be famous politicians or leaders.
The main reason the drugs were so cheap was due to me getting them from europe. If i had ordered them from Australia the price of MDMA rises to around $120 a gram from most sellers. The extra cost is due to the low risk associated with buying in Australia and the next day delivery most sellers offer. Deliveries from europe take weeks and there's the chance they will be intercepted by customs but a delivery within Australia takes 24 hours with express postage and there's almost no chance of interception.
I decided to branch out and start selling to people on the dark web within Australia. The profits weren't as good but it was still highly lucrative. I undercut all the competitors on Alphabay and offered the cheapest prices in Australia in order to build a customer base.
