My own thoughts about Hyperinflation
My own thoughts about Hyperinflation
Introduction
It is clear that hyperinflation is a financial phenomenon that impacts on a country's economy, reducing purchasing power and lowering the quality of life. Hyperinflation can create negative effects on the population, affecting their mentality and critical point of view, which can have large-scale repercussions on human relations and social behavior. Some of the scourges derived from this phenomenon are: Usury, opportunism, scarcity, speculation and hoarding, which becomes frequent and takes part in the local economy without any control or legal margin.
To illustrate the way of life acquired in the social environment in times of hyperinflation, we must necessarily make a breakdown of the aspects involved, given their diversity and impact derived from them, in addition to taking into account that it affects us all with marked differences. I will try to group the most relevant aspects, according to my own experience.
Individual, family and society
It should be noted that the individual's income will be reduced to very low levels, which will not allow him to sustain his way of life and basic needs. In the same sense, the family nucleus is involved, since the family depends on the economic stability of the average worker according to his functions and role. As a result, we have a society in frank deterioration in all aspects of daily life, among them: Habits, collective dynamics, motivation, values and morals. I have seen it happen before my own eyes, a radical change in the social gender that has changed significantly to each of the people around me.
I have been able to learn that human beings are capable of overcoming the worst of circumstances to guarantee their lives and the lives of their loved ones. We must always have an alternative strategy to foresee irregular situations that may arise in our path.
Goods and services
The human being requires access to a series of services and basic items in order to develop as a citizen and have an effective life. When there is hyperinflation, services collapse due to disinvestment, lack of maintenance or resources for maintenance. Personal goods such as: automobiles, houses, household goods, present great deterioration and it becomes impossible to renew them. Also public services such as: telephony, Internet, electricity, drinking water supply, transportation, are severely degraded, affecting the common citizen and his daily functions.
In relation to personal property; electronic equipment, furniture, household items, it should be remembered that all of these have a useful life time, which indicates that at a certain time they will require repair or total replacement. I am referring to strictly necessary goods such as: refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, fans, air conditioners, televisions, and others. It is unfortunate to know that in spite of being professionals and devoted workers, in spite of having a contract or a fixed job; living in the midst of hyperinflation, our income will not allow us to have access to these items, so, little by little, we will be left with practically nothing.
In my opinion, I believe that the trigger of the crisis is the application of an economic model that does not adjust to the real needs of the country. This has repercussions on the inefficiency of the productive apparatus and therefore on the income received by the country.
Food and health
This is definitely the most alarming condition for the entire population, since life depends on it. There is no access to the basic food basket, nor is the necessary protein load consumed to maintain vital balance. The population presents evident symptoms of malnutrition and suffers from diseases that cannot be treated. Access to medicines is almost impossible due to scarcity and high cost. Patients on medication or with chronic diseases have a shorter life expectancy, to such an extent that the mortality rate for diseases that could be treatable increases disproportionately. Such is the case of: Diabetic patients, Hypertension, HIV and oncology patients, among the most common cases.
It should be noted that mental health is also compromised. Due to the constant subjection to anguish and worries, the crisis generates depressive symptoms in a large part of the population, also increasing cases of violence, suicide and dementia.
The most difficult part of hyperinflation is the health and nutrition of the population, since this is the basis of life and all other factors depend on it.
Self-improvement and future projection
This aspect is decisive in order to define the quality of the human being that will be active in society at the end of hyperinflation. It is about the same population that would have been subjected to the above mentioned affectations and ravages, both physical and mental that I have mentioned in broad terms in the previous part.
School and university dropouts have been huge, many young people have left their studies to work. Others, active professionals, have not been able to complete their advanced studies: Postgraduate, Master's degrees, any type of academic training that would be necessary for them to move up in the labor market. Practically all of them have had to suspend their personal improvement plans, of course, there are exceptions, such as the case of people who have other possibilities or who, even in the midst of the crisis, have managed to plan differently.
A society that does not educate itself will not be able to face future events, nor contribute to a socioeconomic system that is trying to overcome the effects left by hyperinflation. Therefore, I think subjectively, that many people's vision of the future could become somewhat limited or they will simply suffer a possible great delay in their growth plans.
Blockchain and cryptocurrency contributions.
Online work has become a viable alternative to manage the impact of the crisis. Many of us have turned to the blockchain for some margin of profit to tide us over the economic situation, mainly related to food and health. Decentralized social media platforms allow us to earn some additional income, which represents a lot in my country, where the minimum wage does not cover basic needs.
I think, blockchain adapts to the current economic situation providing notorious solutions. Such is my case, since I currently work 24/7 from home and I get income proportional to my performance, which serves me to guarantee food for my family. I know of many people who cannot adopt blockchain in my country, because the same economic situation does not allow them to access a personal computer, smart equipment and Internet service, to be able to get started in this type of solution.
Steemit allow to obtain rewards in tokens which, when deposited in an Exchange and used in the right way, for example trading, can represent an ideal way to obtain profits or keep some kind of savings, mainly for emergencies. In the same way, with the integration of TRX to the Steemit.com platform, today there is a new strategy in cryptocurrency that can contribute to increasing profits, also the increase in the value of the SBD has allowed obtaining a greater benefit from the blockchain which can be used to cover expenses in countries that live in hyperinflation as the case of Venezuela.
