RE: That day I got my ass kicked during Steem Fest
Oh shit I heard that you got beaten up, but the story ..
With all respect to polish people - I had a similar feeling that "foreigners" aren't welcome. Even though many of my ancestors are polish, I didn't feel welcome at all, and actually didn't feel safe for my girlfriend who was with me.
Many people on the internet try to justify rightwing-culture & politics (you just have to look under politic relevant videos on youtube), but especially after feeling it myself, I don't think this should be tolerated at all.
If countries don't want foreigners, then I won't go there, but that's their loss - not mine.
Alright, I got a bit digressed - hope everything healed fine (even though you have a scar now.
Let's make sure next SF location is a bit more friendly to latinos and spaniards (and hopefully warm) :D
Wow, I am so sorry to hear you and your girl had this feeling @therealwolf. I have to say, most people I met were really friendly, especially the police and ambulance staff that were dealing with me and the guy that drove into me. But that being said: that guy was something else...didn't even try to see how I was doing. The guy that was playing the music at the karaoke place, still thought he was in communist Poland though, very angry man... Other than that, people were friendly enough, but maybe because they were all providing a service, so not being nice would cost them money...
You are absolutely right ;) I'm a Polish guy who live in UK since 2007 and I just knew what mentality Polish people who live in Poland have :) it only looks welcome in the first place but at the end of the day its not :)

Oh man yeah, I remember you told me something about your Polish ancestry. And yeah, that was not the only time I felt like I wasn´t welcomed, as a matter of fact I felt it quite frequently but then again, I look very latino haha.
I don´t mind people being nationalist and protective of their culture, but there´s no need to be rude or aggresive with people who are clearly tourists who are there to spend, not migrants looking to live off of welfare.
I don´t think I´m going back to Poland especially because of this, if they don´t want money from foreigners, they won´t get it, as simple as that.
Ahaha imagine a SF in Cancun next year :P
