RE: Grower + Show'er | LED Lighting for Plants

in #cannabis8 years ago (edited)

i think LEDs are missing the healthy infared radiation that aids in mihtocontrial function....

my uncle grew weed with LEDs. but they were like crack plants

LEDs work great it's just with the full spectrum or rather Fuller Spectrum than conventional lights with more of a Red Spectrum there's less girth if you will but way more trichomes and terpenes and everything else that's great it's just that with all the other spectrums the Red Spectrum just not the main one which causes Bud growth but you get away more tastier and complex bud

more red equals more terpenes. great for taking the bud sublingually using a good CBD strain

Our kind xl 750 has a nice uv/ir spectrum to it. Its just when you compare the spectrums of the LED lights compared to HID lights or conventionally used lights with ballast will find that they have a one-dimensional type of spectrum either mostly red or red with little bit of blue the LEDs have way more Spectrum to than those lights now if you were to make an argument about the sun vs LEDs or these conventional lights I agree with you but LEDs have less heat to them and Fuller spectrum they even make one that damn near mimics the Sun's Spectrum it's getting kind of late I'm tired but if you want show some research a literature I'll look into it what you post and I can post stuff tomorrow when I got energy to do research on this like I've already done

i actually should have put a question mark after the terpenes comment. i do not know, all i know is the terpenes are good for ingesting when using cannabinoids to help heal the body. i wouldnt mind you do the research. i know someone who is trying to grow good weed and the info could be helpful

sorry about that yeah I'm using text to speech so I can come off weird as well. LED lights just have more Spectrum and less Heat leading to more terpenes and try comes the problem is is that the buds can take a little longer to finish and most people are used to bigger bud with conventional lights over LED you won't be disappointed with a kind light or a black dog light

What kind of LEDs did your uncle use? What wattage were the diodes? Did he use top bin COBs?

There are LED panels that have IR diodes as well as UV. That source in your post is also 5 years old, and isn't a legitimate case study.

I respectfully disagree with you.

Seeing the difference between the "blurple" LEDs, which are just blues and reds mixed, compared to a full spectrum (390nm-710nm) panel, definitely have me convinced there's a huge difference.

Also LEDs have grown great weed for us for the past year has been awesome lots of people claim to get even better yields with LEDs but that's with like top-of-the-line black dogs
