RE: Why I find living in cities in China is most convenient in the world? Part 2: WeChat and its powerful public accounts

in #cn8 years ago

I go to China in just over a month for 3 months or so cycling, do you think WeChat is a must have? Thanks for the article!! :)

Sort:

it's about as popular as facebook in the USA.. except even more popular, because instead of texting or calling people, most people in China will just send WeChat messages. So if you want to contact anyone while you're in China, you pretty much have no choice but to get it.

Thanks, that's good clarification!

Ohahhaha I hope you've biked in Asia before, if not you're in for a shocker :^)
Wechat is 100% a must, especially if you go outside of the western/south-western areas. If all you do is bike-tour you can get by, but you'll have zero contact with those you meet along the way if you want later on or if you stay somewhere awhile you'll be in the dark, as like magicmonk said, it replaces calls/texts too. Entirely.

Hey again! ha... I haven't biked extensively in Asia, just a bit of cyclign around Myanmar, I can't wait for the culture shock though (I am slightly shitting it too...not going to lie!)
I think I definitely need to get this Wechat because I really want to build some relationships with people! :)

Yes WeChat is a must since in China Email is more in business and texting is a bit out of date...WeChat is the one to contact friends
