On this beautiful Sunday, I went to Sham Shui Po. It is TOTALLY DIFFERENT from where I visited last time. It's a place where you can experience life. TRUE LIFE. As you all know, Hong Kong is a "fantastic international city" owning to its skyscrapers, fancy cars and amazingly dressed OLs. However, it is much more than that. Walking in HK, you can also see rundown buildings, obsolete cars and austerely dressed people. Sham Shui Po is a place where you can find all of these. This is what it looked like in the 60s:

Don't freak out. This photo was not taken in the 60s.

This is how it looks like now. Everything has changed, and everything is changing. However, something never does.

The first place I went to was Apliu Street.

IMG_1334.jpg

It is a large flea market where you can find electronics and related stuff. The price is unreasonable-unreasonably LOW!! You can also find many second-hand stuff here. Heyyy! Magnetsssss! Magnetic Man's gonna love this!!

Need a new phone case?

IMG_1337.jpg

Want some new toys?

IMG_1335.jpg

Or some new plugs?

IMG_1338.jpg

ALL of these shops were 'constructed' by the owners themselves. Great job!!!

LOOK!!! It's an ice cream truck!!! The ice cream vender, Mister Softee, introduced 14 ice cream vans in Hong Kong in the 1970s. After the HK government stopped issuing new hawking licenses in the late 1970s, the no. of ice cream vans stopped to grow. And luckily, we can STILL see these 14 old vans running in the territory:):) Actually there're only 4 types to choose from: vanilla soft ice cream, 'lotus cup', nutty drumstick and jumbo orange. Sounds OLD SCHOOL, right? ;ppppp You have to try this if you visit HK! It's now renamed to Mobile Softee.

Ohhhh it's raining!!☔️

The second place I went is the Golden Shopping Centre. It's EXTREMELY famous for its computer components. In HK, if you ask people where to buy IT products, 99.9/100 will suggest the Golden Shopping Centre. The Golden Computer Centre (the first picture) is on the upper floor while the Golden Computer Arcade is on the lower floor. As they have similar names, people often get confused. The former specializes in hardware while the latter sells mainly software (really? umm I'm confused too). In the 1990s, the price of a computer is VERY expensive. Therefore, people chose to BUILD THEIR OWN computers or buy one ASSEMBLED BY THE SHOPPERS in these shopping centers. That's how it started:):)

IMG_1305.jpg

It's the Digital Hub logo!!!

IMG_1304.jpg

Actually, it's an IT shopping centre in which you can almost find ANYTHING you can think of: CPU, video games, motherboards, computers, RAM, and cute stuff!!

Some of the shops accept Bitcoin!!!!

IMG_1313.jpg

Happy MINING!!!!!!! Well, please ignore the spelling mistake......LOLLLLLL

IMG_1311.jpg

After that, I went a famous shop in Prince Edward. It's often very crowed but today I was lucky. Their mango is just......fabulous!!!

Me too!! Haha thanks for your support ! Please come to HK some day!! :)
