One of the biggest problems with this lull is that we are going from innovators to early adopters.
There is a chasm that many new technologies/gadgets do not make the leap.
What we have seen before is a bunch of tech savvy people getting in on the hype. However, the hype hasn't reached even 1%. (not people who know about bitcoin, not HODLers, but people who are actually transacting in the stuff)
When we get across this chasm, the speed of change and the impact will really be felt. I am sure that this will be BIGGER than smart phones. (as do most people on steemit.)
At that point, we can actually start to draw a trend line.
