Hi DSound tribe! :)

This is the first post of a new series of posts sharing with you what we are up to right now! We think this is very important, specially in this bear market where the general sentiment is kind of down... Well, not at DSound team! :)

We actually think that this is a great time! Maybe the greatest of the late years... ;)

Community Update

These are exciting times for DSound! There will be so much new stuff to share with all of you that we had to break this into several updates. Some things will change, but our mission remains the same - to provide and improve a platform where artists, musicians and any other sound creators can showcase their talent, and feel rewarded by doing so.

DSound Engagement

Now that DSound has instant playback, we want to encorage the usage of DSound as a streaming platform as well as a place where creators publish their works. We feel that DSound has the potential to be used to listen to music, podcasts, DJ sets or any other great sound content our users have been posting.
And we will make sure that it will be fun, engaging and cool!

Content Attention as effective curation

Actually we are very happy with the way we have been conducting curation on DSound! We have one of the best examples of a clean and meaningful "Trending" page of all the DApps on Steem, and this has to mean something. Just check it out for yourself:

Such great content and no spam or crappy content gets there. But we'll make it even better!
We will open curation to the community, in a way never seen in any DApp, so that all of the DSound tribe will be involved in the process! This will be so cool...
We will explain all the details of how we plan to achieve this goal in the next few series of posts.

But first we want to let you know what are the first steps you can do to get involved in these exciting new times...

How to get ready for the new DSound curation?

We know that you are interested in participating in this process. We have been with many of you in person or online and many asked to help out. :)
So this will be your chance!

But the new "super powers" will have to be distributed in a meaningful way...

We'll give you time to get ready, don't worry! This is why we decided to give you this hint: voting on @dsound witness or proxying to it and delegating to @dsound account will have big weight in this "distribution of powers" that will happen Q1 next year on DSound!

So don't sell STEEM now! Instead make use of it in a great way, helping one of the biggest music and sound curation and sponsorship initiative in the Steem community!

And fellow musicians, DJs, podcasters, song writers, artists and content creators in general, please pass the word to your fans, friends, family and pets (we know quite a few are on Steem too...).

They will be part of your success soon as well!

What is DSound?

DSound is a decentralized web application that allows anyone to upload, listen and discover music and other sounds stored on top of the IPFS Network.

It uses STEEM blockchain as a persistent database, so by posting their sounds the authors can earn rewards in cryptocurrency, when other users like their content, which can be exchanged easily to US Dollars, Euros or any other currency, with a look and feel very similar to Soundcloud.
