The Steem Sister Show - Episode 149 // Therapy
Welcome to the Steem Sister Show!
Your hosts are @coruscate and @maryjaney - two sisters bringing fun content to the Steem blockchain.
Topic of this Episode – Therapy (Part One)
We were so excited to discuss this topic because Mary actually had her first therapy session last week, and I've certainly had my share of working various people/doing energy work. I know it doesn't look like we covered a ton of topics in this episode - but we really went deep on some of this stuff! Come back for part two (which will be posted on monday) to hear the rest of the conversation!
Questions covered in this episode:
Do you think people have always needed therapy, or is it a recent development with our current culture?
@mcoinz79 - Have either of you had a reiki session or energy healing? What are your thoughts on that?
What is the Steem Sister Show All About?
We aim to bring more “non-crypto” related content to the Steem Blockchain. Although there is nothing wrong with this kind of content– we want to help create a better onboarding experience for new users. We talk a lot about attracting new users to the platform – but if the trending page is filled with crypto posts and flagging wars, they are likely to lose interest quickly.
We hope that by creating content that is more similar to what they are used to seeing on other social media sites – they will feel more excited about being here and creating content of their own!
How Does It Work?
We pick a different theme every week, and then throw totally random questions about that topic in a hat and go back and forth. We always have a mix of our own questions and some audience questions. Our rule is that we cannot tell each other our answers before filming! So you guys are getting our raw, unfiltered reactions here.
Every episode we announce the next week’s topic so people can submit questions.
Want to win some Steem??
If we chose to answer your question in the next show… we will send you 2 Steem!
The Next Topic: The Power of Saying YES
We are so excited to be bringing this topic back as it was not only one of our more popular episodes back in the day - but it was also the episode that was just featured in the Superbowl commercial! We love bringing back popular topics and couldn't think of a better time for this one. What do we mean by the "Power of Saying Yes"? Basically, saying yes to opportunities even if it is out of your comfort zone and the amazing things that can stem from that.
We'd love to get your questions on anything related to this topic. As always, if we choose your question - we'll send you 2 steem.
That’s a Wrap!
We really hope you guys enjoyed this part one chat on Therapy! Come back on Monday to see part two posted and hear the rest of the conversation.

You guys are getting into an area I (and my wife) have been closely connected to for 20+ years... a few thoughts, but I'll try not to ramble too much!
I think we — meaning humans — have always need to talk to others when we have felt pressed by lour lives/problems, but we used to have communities, but we don't anymore... so now we have therapists. Keep in mind that 100+ years ago, most people rarely ventured more than 10 miles from their birthplace, in their entire lives. Now we're born, probably move 6 times by the time we leave high school, go to college in another state, then take jobs in a third state. You two being 20-something sisters living in the same town is an exception, not the rule.
My wife is a Reiki Master Teacher, energy healer, psychic intuitive, life coach and educated as a Jungian analyst... which pretty much covers all bases. Lea, you mentioned "Feeling lighter" during and after a session... which is totally a sign that you have a really good match for someone to work with! BUT... it's also great that you have someone who's "sharp" and gets to the heart of things, because the whole point isn't to enable your happy but to guide you to enable your OWN happy.
As for the Power of Saying Yes, I don't really have any questions... I'm still working out the nuances between being a positive "go-get-it person" and jumping on everything out of FOMO.
Your level lowered and you are now a Red Fish!
