We all want the correct answers.


Fitness is filled with questions. How much should I eat? What type of workout should I do? Which protein powder should I buy?


Most of the time we give our best guesses at the answer. But nobody really knows if their answers are 100% correct.


With advancements in science we are getting closer to providing 100% correct answers to these questions. Genetic testing is opening up new paths for us to follow in regards to overall health as well as fitness and nutrition.

I’m going to outline the steps you need to take to determine your genetic make up through DNAFit. This will cost a pretty penny, but getting the correct answers is worth the investment.

How to Test Your Genetics


Step 1: 23 and Me 


Back in the day you had to take a detour to 23 and Me before you could send your results to DNAFit. Now a days you can skip this step and go directly through DNAFit. However, if you have used 23 and Me in the past you can import your results into DNAFit directly. This will be cheaper ($149) and give you same day results. Use this Link


For those interested in their ancestry it’s a cool idea to check out 23 and Me. It’s only $99 and you will learn a lot of interesting facts about yourself you never knew.

Only buy the ancestry service. The health service they offer only tells you if you have a higher chance for certain diseases, not very useful in my opinion.


Step 2: DNAFit ($399)


DNAFit is one of the first companies to provide fitness and nutrition information from your genetics. Through analyzing your genes they can give you recommendations specific to you. I wasted a lot of time in my life trying to figure out this nutrition game. I wish something like this existed when I was younger.

  • Anti-oxidant Need
  • Omega 3 Need
  • Vitamin B Requirement
  • Vitamin D Requirement

That’s a lot of information. Well worth the $399 to obtain it. You could spend decades of trial and error experiments to figure this stuff out. Don’t waste time and go straight to the source.
