RE: Part 6 Circling back to the beginning, I changed my life and became a runner

in #fitness4 years ago

I have only ever experienced runner's high a few times in my life but it was pretty wild. I was unstoppable and felt like it could just run forever. I think the conditions have to be just perfect to ever reach that point but there is a point, normally where you can't really feel your legs anymore that it really does happen... and it is beautiful when it does happen. I hope to figure out the "secret" to it one day because so far the most I have ever run competitively was a half-marathon. I want to do so much more.

It’s incredible, right? I was caught off guard the first time because I had expected my body to be tired and ready to stop and that’s when it kicked in. If you figure out the “secret” please be sure to tell me!

haha, i don't think anyone knows the secret. Runner's high is one of the most elusive things in the world. Some days I can barely finish a 5k and then on others i'm 15 k deep and just stop because I am bored, not because I am tired.

Man I wish there was some secret combo to make it happen. Yeah I hear you on that. I’ve wondered what contributed to the days I felt I could go forever. Or the days when I really it my stride by mile 4 when I would have expected to feel tired. Guess it’s a little fun that I don’t know, keeps me on my toes and each run different 🤷‍♀️
