Total Team Reps (+2,820) = 75,378! The Steemit Daily 100+ Rep Fitness Challenge - Day # 48 - 1/23/18

in #fitness7 years ago (edited)

I will now award 1 SBD for every 10,000 honest reps you submit to my Daily 100+ Rep Fitness Challenge. I will honor all prior reps done before today. Congratulations to @rmsbodybuilding (2 SBD) and @thevillan (1 SBD) for their superb contributions (check your wallets). I will revisit this reward structure as the team grows over time.

As a favor, please read a very personal post I just wrote so you can learn more about why I'm doing this. It'll make sense at the end, so thank you very much if you can. POST LINK

The Challenge: At least 100 honest reps of exercise every day. No excuses. No bullsh*t. Just actions, positivity, and results. Only post AFTER your reps are done.

  • If you can't contribute yet, try to eat natural foods and stay well hydrated without the sugar for now.

  • It's ok to start with a number you're comfortable with if you can't reach 100. You choose what exercises to do.

  • 30 minutes of dedicated brisk walking, running, or SPINNING (new) can count as 100 reps if you're unable to lift or need to rest.

My Daily Challenge Completed - 101 reps:

-35 Shoulder Bar Presses (75 pounds)
-30 Back Bar Rows (75 pounds)
-25 Reverse Forearm Bar Curls (75 pounds)
-11 Bicep Bar Curls (75 pounds)

Daily Assessment: I chose to set the first incentive bar today to give people something to work for. It's not much now, but it's the first step in giving back to you outside of upvotes and encouragement. In the future, each SBD may be able to buy a month of your gym membership or some exercise equipment, so I know it'll be put to good use.

Feedback from @mightpossibly:

"I find it deeply satisfying to do these reps, which is a big deal. I've always hated the gym and prefer to exercise at home. But I've lacked the discipline to do it. It sort of feels like I have gym buddies now, without the hassle of going to the gym."

Please see my first post linked below for my motivation, the challenge background, rules, and details for the Steemit Silver Coin prize! It's also got some personal stuff about why I'm doing this, so it could be a good motivator.

Daily Challenge Complete - 100 reps sort of

The 5x5 workout is only 3 times per week. To help with posture and flexibility, the remaining days will all be active recovery. As such, this morning's workout consisted of:

  • 10 minutes of stretching
  • 15 minute run on the treadmill
  • Nike's Open Rotation (15 minutes) mobility workout find it in the free Nike Training app
  • 10 minute run on the treadmill
  • 5 minute cool down/walk on the treadmill

Seems to be 25 minutes of running and 5 minutes of walking before the open rotation workout, so 30 minutes of dedicated cardio counts for 100 reps since it was intended for exercise.

Daily Challenge Completed - 101 reps:
-35 Shoulder Bar Presses (75 pounds)
-30 Back Bar Rows (75 pounds)
-25 Reverse Forearm Bar Curls (75 pounds)
-11 Bicep Bar Curls (75 pounds)

You are an inspiration!
I have been doing reps and exercise....I still have to sit down and write out a post but pls know that I support this channel.

Thank you very much. Don't worry about writing a personal post if that's holding you back from reporting your reps done for a given day. You can simply put the summary in here as a comment for the current day to be added.

Daily Challenge complete!
30 lat pull downs
30 sitting rows
30 sitting back machine ( I have no idea what it's called lol.)
30 laying back pulls
Total reps: 120
I had to get a super quick workout today, between making video game videos for twitch/youtube and job applications and phone interviews, it was buys. But I still had to get my 100 reps in!

Challenge Completed - 228

  • Deadlifts 15 reps
  • Pull-Ups 19 reps
  • Rows 30 reps
  • Bent-Over-Raise 45 reps
  • Curls 19 reps (per arm)
  • Kettlebell Swings 60 reps

My new video will be uploaded tomorrow. d.tube is too slow at the moment.

What do you think of lowering the sets of Deadlifts to an amount of 3?
I will add some hamstringcurls (got a machine in my garage for about 4 months :D) to be sure that the backside of my leg is getting enough attention.

How many sets of deadlifts are you currently doing now compared to maybe 3 per your question?

I used to do 5 ramped sets for three months, 5x5 for the last 3 weeks and now 3x5.

Challenge Completed - 556 reps

Thanks for that nice bonus old chum, was a nice surprise :)

Daily challenge complete. 711 reps.
