Am I, who I always wanted to be?

in #goals3 years ago

As a young girl I had many dreams in my eyes, and who does not have. When we are growing up we have our own dreams and imaginations of how we want our life to be.
Honestly I did not have much exposure when I was a child, my life was very confined and limited and hence with that was my knowledge. But with whatever my understanding of life was, one thing was sure that I had always decided that I wanted to change my situation and become something noticeable in life. My goals kept on shifting at that point of time.

At a very young age, I was very intrigued by the teaching profession. My Mom also was a School teacher, and I would often visit the school with her and I would see how she was always in demand with the children. It was something I felt at that moment was very prestigious and I still have the same feeling for the teaching profession. I wanted to become a School Teacher then. As kids we played games and this was one of my favorite characters to enact.
When I got into the University, that time as a part time job I was giving tuitions, I was enjoying that part, teaching small children and being their mentor.

But then at that point of time, I got another part time job in one of the Financial Companies, It was a Merchant Banking firm. This was a completely different space for me, and I had no sound knowledge of it. Everything that I was learning was becoming overwhelming for me, and I thought that this job was more exciting for me than the teaching profession, very soon my preference changed and I decided to pursue my career in finance. But again there were some other plans. In a year's time, I got a job with Swiss Airlines as a trainee. Initially I was not very sure, but then the salary offered in those days was very good, and I needed more money then, so I decided to go ahead with it.

Very soon the glamour and the travelling part of the Airline Industry took over me and before I realized I was visiting places from my job. It was like a dream come true. I was enjoying the job, and suddenly I was finding that the Finance job was so boring and this is so much fun. For 10 years I did the job and then out of the blue, I got an opportunity to work with one of the best Companies of India Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in the role of HR. Again a new challenge of life, because I was not an HR person, but I had good people skills always and that attracted this job to me. In the 10 years of Airline jobs, I was then feeling stagnant and wanted to do something different. Took up the opportunity and worked for 10 years in HR with TCS first and then 5 years with Accenture. My career graph was going up very well and then I also started making big plans for the future.

During this time, my journey into the healing space began and along with work I was also working on enhancing my skills and knowledge in this space. Soon I realized that my ultimate satisfaction was here.

In all my corporate jobs some days brought satisfaction and some did not, but in the last 10 years that I got myself involved into the healing space, every day has been satisfying with the work that I do in this space. This is a happy place for me and I can say that I have found ME here.

I had no clue of this space before, and no plans as well. So I cannot say that I always wanted to be. The work of Healing gradually came into my life with all my life experiences but yes I can very confidently say this now that I would like to be this forever and nothing more. My journey started at a very different level and eventually it progressed in a very different direction, but all that I came across in my journey has been fruitful and enriching. I can say that at that point of time that was the best that suited me. Also my childhood passion of Teaching is still alive and even though I did not become a School Teacher but Teaching was always a part of me. In my job I was a Trainer and would do a lot of training. Today I teach healing work and also conduct soft skills training.

If I go back and relate to what I am today, yes somewhere a part of me is what I always wanted to be.

I would like to invite my dear @taliakerch to participate in this contest

You are so lucky to have had opportunities to find work. I've never experienced that before. In Korea, there are no jobs available, especially after the scamdemic. Thank goodness for crypto, or i wouldn't be able to survive. Problem is.... the growth speed of these coins are so frigging slow that most of the time, we must hold the coins for a minimum of 4 years to even gain anything. Most everything in crpyto is hype and lies. Look at steem, for example, it just keeps going down and never up. I'm beginning to think that when bitcoin gets to 200k, steem will still be 25 cents. Not even $1 or $0.75. Unfortunately, I don't have any dreams. I had them when I was young, but as I got older, I quickly realized my dreams don't/won't come true ever. My dream now is to only survive and maybe be able to eat some icecream.

I think dream is something that keep us motivated and alive. Dreams are never-ending process accomplished first dream and look for other.

So, you have done several jobs in several corporate companies, I was also wanted to be in TCS or Accenture, but now as a graphic designer, I'm happy with our own business.
You wore an alluring designer saree, I like it very much, you made me to search for these color sarees for this diwali hahahaha.... Thanks for sharing
