BEFORE GOING TO THE GYM CHECKLIST

in #health7 years ago

Hi, community, after many years going to the gym and having couple nice workouts and many poorly executed ones, I noticed some patterns of things I do before working out and that makes it awesome. Anyway, here we go!

1. Water

Before working out being hydrated is a MUST. I always aim for 1,5L to 2L around 2 hours before leaving home. My numbers might be high for you, but you have to consider I have been doing it for awhile. A pro tip is getting a bottle and drinking it all at once like you were chugging it.

2. Food

The picture only shows couples ideas, but I always eat a lot 1 to 2 hours before working out. This one is controversial since some people recommend working out while fasting for fat burning, I don't agree with that advice since there's no science to back it up and if I did I'm sure I would get sick and nauseous... So! At the same time, if I eat and don't give it enough time I get sick as well, you have to find your balance and it's different from everyone, just don't go straight to the weights.

3. Rest

thanks for the picture, Athlean X, it cracks me up every single time

Does resting make a huge difference in the workout? Yes and no to be 100% honest. If you don't sleep for 2 days and drown yourself in caffeine you might be able to hit your weights, does that makes it good or recommendable? Hell no. Sleeping is what's gonna keep your body working, build your muscle, fill your energy up, fight any sickness, so you need to have a good sleep. It's commonly recommended 8-10 hours for teenagers and 6-8 hours for adults. So, at night, drop your phone, close your curtains and get some sleep for gains!

This is it for today's post, hope you learned something nice!
