Why Should You Workout?

in #health7 years ago (edited)

This is a question most of us ask ourselves before we put on our gym clothes and head to the gym. For most people it seems, they dread the gym. They don’t want to go because it is painful and it takes up a lot of time. Working out can feel uncomfortable and it isn’t easy to exert yourself. I think the pros outweigh the cons and you should definitely workout if you want to improve your life.

I started working out when I was 12 years old..and the benefits I am about to list for you have definitely helped me for a more happy and healthy life…
• Improve muscle mass or lose fat
• Reduces the chance of adverse health conditions and diseases
• Exercise improves mood
• Exercise improves metabolism
• Exercise improve your sex life!

Gain Muscle Mass or Fat Loss

Whether your goal is to gain muscle or lose fat, this is the biggest benefit and biggest motivator to people for working out. Being active burns calories and excess fat that is on your body along with a diet that is low in carbs and high in protein, vitamins, and minerals. High muscle endurance and cardio will help your body gain more lean muscle mass and lose fat. Regardless, working out and exercising controls your weight and will help you look good in the mirror. :P

Reduces the chance of heart disease and improves your lymphatic system

Cardiovascular exercise improves heart health and has been shown to lower the risk of heart disease. In general, exercise also reduces the high-density lipoprotein (HDL), or "good," cholesterol and decreases unhealthy triglycerides.

According to DrDavidWilliams.com “Our lymphatic system is basically our body’s sewer system. Although it has millions of vessels just like the blood system, it has no strong heart to keep lymph moving. Instead, lymph is moved by breathing, walking, intestinal activity, and muscle action. As muscles tighten, lymph vessels are squeezed and lymph is pushed along and filtered through lymph nodes on its way back to the veins and the heart.” We need to keep lymph moving efficiently and one way is through exercise.

Exercise Improves Mood

Exercise has been shown to boost mood and happiness. When you work out or run your brain produces endorphins, the endorphins cause pleasure and make you feel good – ever here the term runner’s high? This is why. Regular exercise can have a profoundly positive impact on depression, anxiety, ADHD, and more. It also relieves stress, improves memory, helps you sleep better, and boosts overall mood.

Exercise Improves Energy

According to WebMd.com, a study was done where, “researchers analyzed 70 studies on exercise and fatigue involving more than 6,800 people. "More than 90% of the studies showed the same thing: Sedentary people who completed a regular exercise program reported improved fatigue compared to groups that did not exercise," says O'Connor. "It's a very consistent effect."The results show that regular exercise increases energy and reduces fatigue.”

In my personal experience I have opted out of consuming an energy drink or coffee if I don’t have to. I rather go for a run or get lift some weights and get my blood flowing. It definitely gives me a boost!

Exercise Improves Sex Life

Exercise naturally boosts men’s testosterone levels attributing to a “natural sort of Viagra effect”. Men who exercise regularly report more frequent sexual activity, improved sexual function, and greater satisfaction.

Research in women has found that those who are physically active report greater sexual desire, arousal, and satisfaction than women who are sedentary. Also, men and women who exercise report better body image and higher self-esteem.

Conclusion

I’ve now laid out some of the main health benefits of alcohol. These tips are practical advice, but you may have learned a thing or two. If you want to be happy and healthy long term, I suggest you exercise and workout. Exercise has greatly helped my life, and I hope it will help yours!

Excellent post as always! I think you can really become a fitness instructor on the side since you already know so much. You would make a ton here in NYC!

Hehe maybe I will make a career switch. Yeah being a fitness instructor would help. Yes, plenty of rich Wall Street wives need someone to get them in shape!

When you exercise, feel-good chemicals called endorphins are released in your body. These endorphins spark a positive, euphoric feeling.Working out makes you feel more fit, which makes you feel better about yourself, which makes you feel sexier. When you exercise you feel better, you look better, you get stronger, you feel a sense of accomplishment, and that rush of endorphins has a ripple effect on everything you do.
Exercising is one of the fastest ways to clear stress hormones out of your system. We reach our peak bone and muscle mass by the time we’re 30, and by our 40s we begin to lose it. With proper nutrition and regular exercise, specifically resistance training (lifting weights and/or body resistance training several days a week), we can slow and even reverse this process.

Yes than you for covering clearing stress hormones. We need to retain proper bone mass as we get older. Thanks for stopping by!

I feel better (mentally and physically) when I'm in shape and active. So I keep trying to feel the best, by being as healthy as possible, and fitness is a factor. (Cardio, strength, flexibility.) That's the primary reason. I also like how I look better when I'm active, so that's the secondary reason/bonus.

Same here, the mental and physical benefits are amazing! Being fit is essential for your body to destroy all of the toxins. If people only realized they feel so bad because of their diet and physical habits. Yes, looking good is a plus too!

Good content friend, to motivate those who do not do much exercise, I will take into account to be more healthy.
