The key to results is consistency and in order to be consistent you need to have the proper motivation to improve yourself and get to the gym. Being too tired or saying you don’t have enough time are just two examples of poor excuses that will break your rhythm and ruin your gym routine. Make going to the gym a part of your lifestyle. Once you make it a routine, you will see results, and you will enjoy working out rather than seeing it as a chore.

Here is my ‘NO EXCUSES’ list of ways to motivate yourself to consistently work out and go to the gym:

  1. Sign up for a gym – Just the mere fact of paying for a membership should make you want to use of the facilities and not let your money go to waste.
  2. Go with a friend, family member, trainer – Having someone who is expecting you or depending on you to go is a great motivator.
  3. Take a pre workout supplement – This is my favorite way of making sure I get to the gym every day. Before I leave work, I take my pre workout supplement to give me a boost of energy. Now that I am all jacked up, I have no choice but to go to the gym and work it off.
  4. Music – Getting a good playlist together or finding the right station to listen to during your workout can give you the ultimate pump up you need to have a successful workout session day in and day out.
  5. Make a bet or join a contest – start a weight loss or workout contest or make a bet with friends/coworkers. The competitive spirit is a great motivator.
  6. Make a motivation board – At home, make a board of anything and everything that motivates you. You can post motivational quotes, before and after pictures, goals, etc.
  7. Change up your workout routine – Join a class or find ways to make your workouts fun and different each and every day.
When all else fails, my advice is to just get in your car and drive yourself to the gym. Whether you feel like going or not, once you are there, you will find the energy to get a sweat in.

Drop the excuses and find what motivates you best! Let me know what motivates you to work out in the comment section down below.

I remember dragging myself to the gym on days when the last thing I wanted to do was work out. But here's the thing: every time I pushed through, I left feeling like a champion. The hardest part is getting there, but once you're in the zone, it's all worth it. Sometimes, finding the right environment helps too. For me, joining the YMCA made a huge difference. The community vibe kept me coming back. If you're curious about costs, you can check them out here: YMCA how much is a membership . Keep pushing—you got this!
