Too much plastic
AI? New guy, we try, my-my, shoes fly! Sky-high, I sigh, why wry? Dry tie, tech try, ta-ta, bye!
Do I hate AI? No, absolutely not. But do I feel frustrated with AI? Yes. When I run a contest and see entries that are overly polished, too formal, or rely too heavily on AI-generated content. This is not the way AI should be used. It was never meant to be misused in such a way, especially in a creative space like this.
This is a lousy twister, but it will have to do. So here's my story based on this twister: I also invite you to create a better twister based on this theme.
AI? New guy, we try, my-my, shoes fly! Sky-high, I sigh, why wry? Dry tie, tech try, ta-ta, bye!
There was once a cobbler who took great pride in his work. He made everything by hand, and the villagers always came to him for his services. Then, one day, a new shoemaker from the town arrived. This shoemaker had fancy tools and even a small machine for cutting soles to the perfect size.
While the cobbler took weeks to craft a pair of shoes, the shoemaker could make one in just a day. The villagers quickly started going to the shoemaker instead. The cobbler was filled with anger and gathered some people to have a riot against the shoemaker, accusing him of using some kind of sorcery. Eventually, they cast the shoemaker out of the village. Good riddance? Huh?
But soon, the demand for shoes surpassed the supply, and the villagers grew restless. Having tasted the convenience of quick service, they were now frustrated with the cobbler. On top of that, the cobbler was aging, his eyesight was failing, and he couldn't keep up with the growing demand.
Finally, the villagers set up a small factory. The shoes were now made from ready-made plastic materials: plastic shoes. Hundreds of shoes could be made in a single day. However, the villagers began to question whether they needed so many shoes, let alone ones made of plastic!!!
Think about it before you also get bored like those villagers!
In my opinion, AI is currently causing significant damage to Steemit. People want to earn rewards, but they don't always want to put in the effort. For many, using AI is a huge temptation.
Steemit could profitably stand out from other sites. Here could be a Klondike of human creativity for humans. Instead, I observe the appearance of more and more posts written by AI. It's a pity, but this cannot always be clearly proven.
I believe that generating a text for participation in the contest is unacceptable. This is an insult to the author of the contest, for which the participant does not even want to pay minimal attention.

Thank you for your feedback!
Gosh, AI is such a broad term and utility. We can't simply label it as "bad" or "notorious." We've had plenty of debates in the past about how to use it effectively. Tools like Grammarly are also forms of AI, as is Microsoft Bing's image generation, which I personally find fun.
However, there's a very fine line, very fine line, and many people don't know when to stop taking advantage of AI. Using it excessively for posts often results in content that's boring and, frankly, outright off-putting.

Yes, at the moment, the most threatening for our platform is precisely the generation of text with the help of AI. Heartless and often meaningless text that is not intended to be read, evoke emotions, form one's opinion and interact with people. 🙁

In fact, AI has caused great damage to the Steemit platform. When checking articles, several tools have to be used to perform AI detection. Sometimes, even the results obtained from each detector are different.

You are right. Unfortunately, AI detection tools are very imperfect. I had the same problem when I was a curator.
Very nice! And very true. And very futile - I guess. It looks like AI is indeed developing rapidly and it's no longer possible to distinguish reliably between its texts and human texts. I've done my own experiments and would accept some AI texts as absolutely human. This makes it less likely to detect and prove rule violations in this respect. This will affect the whole of society and all areas of life: in the end, it will no longer make any difference who or what wrote a text. That makes me sad, but we can't stop it.

If I would use AI for writing my posts you will see it right away, for sure, no AI will be able to have such long and complicate sentences, and also wont use the same words like the original ;)
