RE: Today we cook food to honor our ancestors and the family eats together.
The chameleon is a distraction 🫣 nice shot @paopaoza🫰 what is the event that your mother have to honor the ancestors? I mean on your special calendar. Or it just an act base on individual preference?
I don't have that kind a rites but we do have something we called "grave's celebration" it's like we cook and invite our relatives to eat the food and then praying for our ancestors too. In the past, we did it around the graveyard, but nowadays we just clean up the grave and have the meals at home or the mosque.
In one ir two step of the rites, it's the same with what your family did. Food preparing dan family reunion🙌 thanks for sharing
I am a Chinese daughter-in-law, so I will see my mother-in-law preparing food to honor the ancestors according to the festivals in the calendar. I think all religions probably do similar things.. As Thai people do during the Songkran festival, which is like the Thai New Year. They will make merit at the temple for their deceased relatives and will clean the bones with the Kot.
