I am a Chinese daughter-in-law, so I will see my mother-in-law preparing food to honor the ancestors according to the festivals in the calendar. I think all religions probably do similar things.. As Thai people do during the Songkran festival, which is like the Thai New Year. They will make merit at the temple for their deceased relatives and will clean the bones with the Kot.

Yes, that's it.. All religions have a similar culture but a bit different of rites and time, usually the events are the same or alike. New year, a festival or other gratitude for the ancient history, many reasons. Interesting and amazing at the same time.
