Hello fellow fitness enthusiasts! I'm thrilled to join you in the "Staying in shape / Push-ups for upper body muscle." challenge, focusing on push-ups as an effective way to build upper body strength. As a fitness enthusiast myself, I'm eager to share my journey and experiences with you. Push-ups are an excellent exercise that can be performed anywhere, without the need for specialized equipment. After going through the lessons from the teacher, I'm excited to share my exercise video and post-workout reflections in this post.

Expanding on the lesson, the upper body encompasses a network of muscles surrounding the neck, shoulders, upper back (including the dorsal and cervical regions), chest, and arms. These muscles play a vital role in our daily movements, as they are engaged in almost every exercise we perform. Whether we're executing simple tasks or complex activities, our upper body muscles work in tandem to facilitate smooth and efficient movement.

As the name suggests, push-ups involve pushing our upper body upwards, supported by our tiptoes and palms on a flat surface. Our instructor demonstrated the exercise flawlessly. As a student, I'm excited to share my own attempt at this classic exercise, watch my video below!

Demonstration video of the three exercises requested in the task

I've been incorporating aerobic exercises into my routine with my fitness coach, so I decided to take on the challenge of executing all three push-up variations in "hard mode" for a more intense impact. As expected, the focus on upper body strength meant that's where I felt the most exertion.

To maintain balance, I used my tiptoes and palms for the "shoulder and upper back push-ups", as well as the "chest and back push-ups". For the "parallel push-ups", I used my heels and palms instead. I completed 10 repetitions of each variation, resting for 10 seconds between sets to finish with a total of 20 repetitions.

In your own words, tell us about your experience and how you felt while doing the exercises.

Reflecting on my experience with push-ups, I realized I had practiced them years ago but stopped without a specific reason. What I've come to understand is that push-ups aren't solely about strength, consistency is key. By incorporating push-ups into our daily routine, we'll find it becomes increasingly easier to perform a high number of reps in one go - even up to 100 consecutively. Having not done push-ups in a while, I initially struggled and had to exert extra force to complete the exercise.

During the push-up exercise, I started to feel the strain and impact around the second set of 10 repetitions, after taking a brief 10-second rest. As I neared the end, my arms began to tremble, leaving me wondering if I could complete the final reps. Despite the discomfort and pain in my upper body, I persevered and successfully finished all three sets of push-ups. Honestly, the music playing through my headset was a huge motivator. The beats really energized me and gave me the boost I needed to power through the exercise.

¡Saludos amigo!🤗
