RE: You Cross Post... "Me, Unfollow"

in OCD4 years ago

Weird. After four years of existence Steemit still hasn't found the sweet spot and continues on a bumpy road. I don't know why that much hype about communities. I still mostly read what my list of following folks post. Cross posting though really invites good fellows becoming some sort of abusers. It's simply not right to earn twice from the same post on the same platform. Then we wonder why Steem has fallen that low. It's not too convincing for investors with all these flaws and conflicts.

Sort:

"It's simply not right to earn twice from the same post on the same platform".

Dude, I'ven seen people "crossposting" up to 5 times the same thing! 5 posts with the same thing and all the posts with rewards... this is so wrong!

I guess I don't follow the right people :)) It's totally not fair for the rest of ones and again auto votes are proving themselves to be an issue.

Exactly.. some people act like the feed is gone and panic.
Nothing is gone. It is all there as it was. Communities just give extra by sorting the content (or not). Just like tags.

I'd say they don't basically do the same thing as tags because most of the people now post in the most upvoted communities, so communities as tags are not that representative. To some extent though they do facilitate better engagement and finding people alike. For example photography dedicated communities I guess succeed very well in doing that.

Not exactly the same, but give the extra search option (or categorizing post if not posted in those general communities, but thematic ones) besides the tags that still work as they did before. Nothing was taken away.
