Sunday Cooking: Pelmeni or meat sumplings
Hello my dear Steemians,
it is Sunday today and having a day off I thought to cook something that I did not do for a long time due to my working pattern. Usually I cook this kind of meat dumplings from scratch that is why the whole process might take about 2-3 hours and I thought to do it today, usually there are many of those meat pockets that is enough to freeze too for later on.
dough: you need flour, water, salt and one egg.
meet, I use minced beef about 400 mg
one big onion
a bit of Milk
salt and black pepper
So it is very simple and does not require much and we start with dough.
First, you need to mix flour, salt, one egg and some water to mix and create an elastic consistency dough.
Here what you need to have to mix meat, black pepper, salt, onion and some milk.
The next part is really time consuming because the dough need to be rolled into rolls and then cut into small balls, those ones will be then roll flat into the flat oval shaped dough. Meat will be places in the middle and then those ones will be closed in the middle and the two ends will be connect with each other into fine shaped flower like dumplings.
Here are they now ordered into a wooden chopping board.
Now when I am ready for portions for today I bring water to boiling add salt and dumplings, then cook them for 15 minutes.
After that they are ready to be served I usually like to add soya sauce and a bt of chilly. The food was delicious :)
