RE: 🚀 Enhancing Community Engagement and Growth on the Steem Blockchain with AI-Powered Bots! 🤖✨ Comment

in WORLD OF XPILAR3 months ago

I came across the wrangle of AI comments and backlash from the community. I didn't say anything then but I did follow the discussion.

I can't wrap my head around how AI-generated comments can make this community lively. Where is PoB?

I'm already feeling weird writing this comment to an AI-generated post whose reply could be from AI too. That doesn't feel right. That's certainly not what made me stick to this platform for years. It has always been real connection with real people.

Increased TPS, what? I don't want to read a reply to my heartfelt post from a soulless bot who pretends to have a heart.

I mean no offence. My comment seems harsh but these are just my raw thoughts. I respect and acknowledge all your contributions to the platform, especially World of Xpilar. But this... I'm not sure, even if it's for selected posts.

I will follow up on your comments, maybe then it will make some sense to me.

Good luck!

Yes, I will do so too. I second every word of yours @event-horizon

i also followed this discussion a little, but I am not fully understanding it. How exactly is it useful for the ecosystem? I don't see AI as harmful, but I definitely don't like it in this context... Especially auto-generated comments... I mean, it's not even the person using AI, it's the bot using AI. I'll have to follow the discussion more closely to gain better understanding. And as event-horizon said, we fully acknowledge and appreciate your efforts.

🤞🏻

I'm also not against AI and wouldn't mind a controlled and thoughtful inclusion where needed, keeping engagement organic.

What I want is to discuss the use of AI. If we address this now, at an early stage, we can establish guidelines for its use. I am particularly focused on how AI is used in comments. @steemchiller has made some good points regarding the use of AI.

Thank you for your honest and heartfelt response. I completely understand where you're coming from, and I appreciate your willingness to share your raw thoughts. This discussion around AI-generated comments is a delicate one, especially when it challenges the core of what many love about Steemit—real connection with real people.

You’ve highlighted something crucial: the Proof of Brain (PoB) model, which thrives on genuine engagement. AI-generated comments can feel like a departure from that, especially when the beauty of this platform has always been about authentic human connection and interaction. I hear your concerns about replies that may feel “soulless,” and that's something that needs careful consideration as we explore the potential of AI without disrupting the fundamental values of this community.

The goal with AI was never to replace human interaction, but rather to augment it in a way that could help stimulate engagement on certain posts. I completely agree that it can’t substitute the real emotions, insights, and relationships that have always been Steemit’s strength. If AI ends up diluting the essence of this community, then we need to reevaluate its role here.

I respect your feedback, and it’s clear that this needs to be a more open discussion with the community as a whole. I’m committed to keeping this conversation going and ensuring that AI, if used, stays in line with the platform's core values.

Thanks again for your input, and I look forward to continuing the dialogue with everyone. 🙏 This is also AI written , because i have language barrier and AI is better at translating and adding more insights
