Diamond Painting: "Little Owl" and "Flowers"

Today I was looking cleaning up one of our rooms where we are storing old stuff and time to time decide if to keep them or just throw away. That is why while looking through the pile of old paperwork and old drawings, craft-works I came across these two works that I did about 5 years ago. That was the time when I was looking for some challenges for me in the area of Art and I read an article about "Diamond Painting". The word "painting" immediately caught my attention and also "diamond" actually did not really fit into that, therefore, I stopped and decided to find what is it "Diamond Painting."

I understood that this is already premade picture of a tissue that is coloured and there are already some motifs. When you have it the main picture has little cells with certain numbers and also you will have many little beads of different colours and also a kind of applicator that can grab the beads and with its help you should apply a certain colour of certain cells with appropriate numbers. It also reminds me a puzzle.

I did not know that the beads are so simple and thought that these are made of glass and colours more shiny but what I received I was a bit disappointed as they were plastic.

When I finished my little Owl, I was thinking about the frame, of course, I wanted to make a handmade frame and while searching for idea how to make it I came across of Quilling , that is another type of hand-craft that is made from strips of paper. This one I thought to do from cardboard and actually it came very nicely. See yourself and hope you also you like :)

I ordered two Diamond Painting motifs, the other one was simple bouquet of flowers. It was looking nice and colourful, that is why I decided to try this one too. When then thinking about the frame, I decided to do a frame using cardboard but I wrapped it in a small piece of wallpaper that I also painted in pink wallpaper colour. So you can see how it looks like.

It is an interesting experience, so if you like puzzles, you might find this Art also interesting.

Here I made a close photo of the beads and also the canvas where the drawing was done, so you can see how small the pieces are. It took me about 3 days to finished.
